Absolutely! When one is old enough to enjoy the fruits of an altered state, a shot of good vodka is a nice first step. For many of us, that first step is all we need to make a nice evening especially niiiiiiice.
Put the bottle in the freezer for about an hour. AAAAHH! God's own nectar!
By the way, what made you think that it might not be a good idea?

of course! Russians do it all the time (they drink vodka straight up at the dinner table like the French drink wine). I would recommend you eat bread immediately after taking a shot, though. It will help smoothe out the "pain" in your throat.

You can drink any vodka by itself. I take shots (usually flavored because it burns less), and chase them with a sip of really cold soda. Takes the burn and the taste away, but the effect is still in tact!
According to my mother, my Polish great-grandfather drank vodka with breakfast, and my great-grandma would drink warm beer with hers. Ew.

Yes you can. Try the different flavors, they have a new one called grapefruit that I heard was pretty good.
