I was there last week. Activities? Canopy tour was great. Just look up any search engine like yahoo; and type in canopy tour puerto to find a great deal. Shopping in the malecon is good too. Make sure you haggle for anything that you're interested in.
Not sure where you're staying, but hanging out at the all inclusive resort can't be beat for pool and tanning activiites. Have lunch at Chico's Paradise. A restaurant over waterfalls is all you'll have to know. Have dinner at Palomar or Tequilas or MAriachia's ---great food all around. Clubs? Depends on what you're looking for. Go to Malecon on any night of the week after 10-11, all the clubs are hopping especially on Sunday nights. You can find att types of music. Personally, I loved live bands, salsa, and cubano, so we went to La Bodeguita. Great place. Also, there's no cover @ these places. Ask any taxi cab driver--they'll help you find all of the great spots. Have a good time....It'll be hot there.

I´m Mexican and i´ve been there half year ago. it´s pretty beautiful. All along the beach in front of the hotels are activities such as volleyball, kayak, aquamotos, and if you get up early in the morning, you can take tours of fishing I think or scuba diving. Down town there are restaurants, clubs, and bars, and in the night you can stay there in a great mood. I did not visited them so i think you could research in the next website http://www.puertovallarta.net I hope you enjoy it and came to visit us more because mexico it´s a great place for travel. The people will always treat you well . If you are interested, down town there are stores were they sell amazing handcrafts made by huicholes its really cool but i don't know if you like it. however i hope the attendants don´t bother you much because they always offer tours and hotel opportunities so you just tell them no (if you are not interested) and look at them strongly like you hate them (jajaja) Good luck

i went last year had some fun but would not go again anytime soon. i expected the beaches to be beautiful like the ones in Cancun. but nope the sand was horrible. it was the opposite of fine and white, and in the ocean when the waves would hit ur leg with that awful sand it felt like sandpaper scartching ur legs! and the water wasn't clear. the downtown area was nice, interesting and we went on horseback rides through the sierra where we got to see beautiful streams. ahhh memories. plus we got sick on a boat tour we took and that was the most awful thing that as ever happened to me! it was horrible! so that was what made it kinda suck. but don't get discouraged. ( I made it seem like an awful place, sry) i'm sure u will have a good time just don't expect super beautifil beaches.

go to "De SAntos"...the best club there...also a lounge Crazy night club is Zoo. All the clubs are on the strip so you can't miss them. De Santos is two blocks from the strip but still close enough.
