God is an idea created by humans at a time when they did not have the technology or understanding of why it rained or why people die or why people got sick, etc. Why alot of people still believe in God now-a-days? Ask those who believe in God's existence.

This is often asked of Christians. But God by definition is the uncreated creator of the universe, so the question “Who created God?” is illogical, just like “To whom is the bachelor married?”.

So a more sophisticated questioner might ask: “If the universe needs a cause, then why doesn’t God need a cause? And if God doesn’t need a cause, why should the universe need a cause?” In reply, Christians should use the following reasoning:

Everything which has a beginning has a cause.1
The universe has a beginning.
Therefore the universe has a cause.
It’s important to stress the words in bold type. The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, as will be shown below. God, unlike the universe, had no beginning, so doesn’t need a cause. In addition, Einstein’s general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since God, by definition, is the Creator of the whole universe, he is the Creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created, so has no beginning in time. Therefore He doesn’t have a cause.

The whole idea of God showing us in His word that He is the Creator, not a creation reinforces my faith. Because modern science is just now getting to the place where we can start to appreciate what it means to be eternal, it demonstrates that we hold to an intelligent faith. I hope this discussion has helped you.

In my many years of experience as a mystic, I have found that "God" is actually two different yet related concepts:

1. The White Light that many Near Death Experiencers have reported seeing "at the end of the tunnel." This Light is infinite, nonliving, and governed by Universal Law which cannot be changed one iota. The more advanced the soul, the greater its ability to ascend into The Light (expand in consciousness and energy level) after death.

2. The Original Creator who started The Big Bang some 15 billion years ago, who had nothing to do with the formation of traditional religions, and who has yet to come into this space-time continuum. The Light was not manifested by The Original Creator, but represents the only way that reality can manifest itself from nothingness in linear time.

Without The Light Of The God Force, there can be no stars, planets, souls or even an Original Creator.

In the Spirit, time is a condition of consciousness. When there is no consciousness, there is no linear time. When there is no linear time, it is possible to emerge from one's own probability from striving toward The Light.

So The Original Creator was not created by someone else, but represents the very first soul who achieved existence in The Light. That soul went on to become rarefied (but not infinite - as no soul can grow into infinity) in God Consciousness and orchestrate The Big Bang.

This may help you:

"God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Jesus, and through him to reconcile to himself all things."
- Colossians 1:19-20

So if you want to know about God, look to Jesus! Because Jesus said "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father"

Regarding your other question "If God is the creator, who created God?" The bible teaches that God has always existed and will always exist. He is the "alpha and the omega" the "beginning and the end" God is eternal, he exists outside of time and does not have a beginning.

Science demonstrates that the universe has not always existed. Entropy, the big bang, etc. all point to the fact that the universe has a beginning. Any effect must have a cause. Anything that came into being must have a creator.

God is the uncaused first cause.

God always existed.

Psalm 90:2 “Before the mountains themselves were born, Or you proceeded to bring forth as with labor pains the earth and the productive land, Even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God.”

Granted, since everything we are familiar with had a beginning, this is a difficult concept to grasp. When you accept the evidence that God exists, then you develop faith in the statement that he has always existed.

Hebrews 11:6 “Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please [him] well, for he that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.”

No one created God. He has always been, it is too complicated for the human mind to comprehend. But I suggest if you don't know who God is you had better be doing some research. I like the KJV Bible best. Of course it's only an opinion.
