Im not sure whether hormones continue to play a part, or whether the body is happy to return straight to normal weight.

The important thing to note is that weight is a function of how much you eat (energy/calories/kilojoules) and how much you use (exercise).

You must use more energy than you eat, but still eat enough good stuff to get nutrients for you and your baby.

So many people claim that their weight is something out of their control, or that their body has a mind of its own, but simply doing more and eating less will do the job.

Just dont weigh yourself all the time, because you will focus on short term fluctuations in weight rather than a long term trend of better health with slow and maintainable weight loss. (some people go up or down 2kgs in a day, I put on 5 this week but Im only 182cm 80kgs so Im alright!!!)

Good luck, sounds like you'll have plenty of exercise chasing baby!!!

It truly depends how fast that you jump into a workout program and how dedicated you are. Try dieting for a while with low fat foods and go for brisk walks and/or jogs as often as you can. If you feel queasy, give yourself a break because you have been through A LOT! The next step is finding a gym or exercises program that is right for you... just make sure that you baby is well enough to be with Dad instead of Mom for a few hours!

While all people are different, it usually takes less time for a 2nd baby than the 1st. If you're nursing, it takes even less time. With my 1st.. I was 110 before conception, 170 before I had him, 155 after, and it took 6 months for me to get to 120 ( my hips got wide so I'm NEVER getting to 110 again) with my second, I was 120 before, 160 before I had him, 150 after, and within 2 months I was back to 120.. so, it's all different.

it depends. i still have a little after my second child and it's been almost 4 years. If you nurse, the weight goes quickly because your body uses the excess fat to make milk. If you chose the bottle for your baby, then just eat right, exercise and drink plenty of water. water helps loosen up the fat so the body can get rid of it. My ab muscles stretched a little from my second so i will always look like i have a little bit on me. don't diet. they never work unless u plan on eating that way for the rest of your life. just eat healthier. BTW---everything in a woman-- mind, body and personality----changes during pregnancy and takes about 2 years for everything to go back to normal. i still don't have regular periods after my 2nd, for example. it's blunt, but true. lol.

It took daughter in law 5 weeks to be in regular size 4 clothes of course baby was a real chunk.
It took youngest daughter - mother of twins about 8 weeks. She was running around after twins what a workout.
It took oldest daughter about 7-8 months - she takes after my husband's side of family. After 3rd it took her almost 18 months.
I wore my size 4 skirt & skirt home from hospital - I was very active during pregancy. We lived at beach & had boat. Long walks during pregancy & after did wonders.

Everyone is different, patience is the key & walk, walk, walk.

Depending on how hard you work at it, usually anywhere between 6 months and a year. After my 2nd, it took me almost a year and a half, but I wasn't trying hard until he was about 1.

That is entirely up to you.
I'd say give yourself six months to recover from the birthing process, then excercise and eat right and work out until you get down to the size you want!

I've heard that you need to give it a full year. it took me 9 months. but I have known people to do it in as little as 6 weeks and as long as 4 years! Just eat healthy and exercise and it will come off.
