Ya know.. I have read thru the responses here and it breaks my heart. Our military members deserve a lot more respect than what some have given. I feel sorry for those who feel their freedoms arent worth supporting. Maybe we should do away with our military and see how far that gets us.. hmm.. maybe then it wouldnt only be our military who are "killers".... just a thought

Actually, many people LEAVE high-paying jobs to take a spot with the military out a sense of duty. I did.

I'll say this...you get a lot of training and life experience from the Service, but you get this knowing that if you take the Oath, 2 or more years of your life you will be expected to give your life if orders demand it. So if you count the cost, and know exactly what you are getting into..It's not a bad deal. If you have any fantasies of glory or "super patriotic" ideas you will wake up real quick. If you do it do it for yourself and your future wherever it may take you.

I believe that many go due to the fact that they cannot get a good paying job.
