Shepherds do shed more than your average dog, but excessive shedding can also mean poor nutrition. If you are not using a quality dog food (Iams,Eukanuba, Science Diet) then chances are your dog is not getting enough nutrients from the food. You could also have your vet. suggest a brand of food. Good luck.

Some dogs shed more than others. Is your dog an indoor dog? If so, they will shed more often (sometimes all year). The weather can also affect their coat conditions, they shed with the seasons. Brushing regularly helps.

If they are'nt no one told my two.
They're both young and can't sit still long for brushing so one day I'm outside brushing with the undercoat rake the next day I use the shedding blade and the next it's the slicker brush to take the stress off my vaccuum. It's a pain but worth the effort.Mine are'nt long haired either.

Yes! It's normal. Daily brushing helps keep it under control. Sometimes the shedding fur seems endless!

All dogs shed, if your dog is showing thinning of his or her hair (like skin showing through or bald patches) you might need to see a vet. Brushing daily helps alot.

yeah that is normal. You can get a comb made in german called a german shepheard rake and it will help get the under coat out, but she will still shead a great deal. They are sweet dogs and smart, but they shead like crazy.
