Most likely because they don't have the answers... like you said, they only have those verses that are picked out for them. Most are only pulpit parrots, repeating only what their pastor tells them.
And, to me, it seems like they don't want to be bothered with questions... they just want you to believe what they tell you... convert... and deal with it.

I don't think that the bible has all of the answers. I think that the way Christians reflect their beliefs is what matters. I think that you have to develop your own opinions, whether it be that you believe anything in the Bible or not. God is the answer, but the Bible was written by humans. It's a human adaptation of God's words. Humans can not be trusted. I think that some Christians have issues with being able to see other points of view because they haven't tested and ever doubted their beliefs. They only know what they've been believing their whole lives, and when you challenge their word they can't retaliate because they don't know anything other than the Bible. It scares them that other people can doubt something that they know is true.

Wow! You and the Christians you encounter seem to be in a battlle with the sin of being judgemental - no one will win that battle.
If you are truly searching for answers or a relationship with Jesus Christ - ask Him - thru the name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to you - He will.
Because you've read the Bible twice meticulously - means nothing. Did you know - it's stated in the Bible - that Satan knows the Bible.
If you read the Bible with faith and belief in the name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit - then you would understand this.
If you really want the best possible answer and also for people to stop demanding you to "pick up a Bible" before you ask a question - do just that - "ask Jesus Christ to reveal His Truths to you - thru reading your Bible - pick it up, read it, and have faith, believe that He will do this - He will.
You can't truly understand the Bible - until you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ - that is what God (Jesus Christ) desires - not you asking those Christians. A relationship with Jesus Christ is a relationship with your soul! It has nothing to do with anything else - not how meticulous you are - not making points - you make no points with the Father (God), Jesus Christ (the Son, and God in person), and the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of God - Jesus Christ).
When you decide to let go of your control issues and allow God (Jesus Christ) control - all those Christians will leave you alone.

Because, even good common sense will tell you, if you're going to ask or answer anything pertaining to The GOD Of The Bible, then it should be Spiritually Learned Or Spiritually Motivated Questions and Not Foolishness!.....GOD Doesn't Deal in Debates, & Foolishness...That's satans department!.......GOD'S Word Teaches Believers Who Follows Him: "But Foolish And Unlearned Questions AVOID, Knowing That They Do GENDER STRIFE".......(2 Tim. 2: 23).....That's Why Christians InstructsYou To Pick Up The Bible Before Asking A Question!......

I've taken the liberty of reading all 37 of your questions, which has been quite "telling."
If you've read the Bible twice and retained anything you read, then you should be anticipating most of the answers you've gotten; this should have lead you to ask better questions. The elementary nature of the questions you ask belies the fact that you retained and understood little of what you read.
If you HAVE read the Bible, then ask an intelligent question that PROVES it. This would weed out folks who quote the same verses for each question and prompt us to give you more meaningful answers. Just my two cents.

3 words brain washed....make your own decisions about religion. The bible and christianity is all good and mean well. If that is what you choose to belive then that is your option. I think people should not be judged by the religion they choose to follow. I think the bible and Jesus Christ is good stuff myself, but I do not have to give lots of money to some fancy church with an over paid preacher to have faith nor do I need some person telling me how to live my life. Thats all I am saying.

Because most Christians believe that the Bible is an accurate representation of the Universe. Given that belief, talking about "whats true" would be kinda silly unless you'd read it.
If you've actually read it twice - tell them so and point out the flaws you found.

The only time I would say to pick up a bible and read it would be if someone was mis-quoting it. That happens a lot, someone will say "God said", yet leave out the next part which explains it, its as though they're purposely trying to make a particular scripture say something it really doesn't intend.

Because it is the way they have trained themselves to think, instead of using their brains and logic.
Asking any question about someone's belief system is usually bound to get bible verses flung at you. I try to ask questions that make people think, and still I get bible quotes.
I guess it's the difference between rote memorization and understanding. If more 'christians' truly understood the bible, and especially Jesus' teachings, fewer would be spreading bigotry, hatred and discrimination against gay people. WWJD?

Christians believe in the Bible because there is only truth, proven.
To not believe the Truth is saying you hate the Truth.

Because they think that this book which was written by corrupt clerics in the Middle Ages is somehow inspiring instead of listening to their inner voice and finding out what they really think of something.
