As it has already been said, any of the 5 other official UN languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin, Arabic, or Russian). Spanish or French would probably be easiest since both use latin characters (letters). Also, being fluent in either of these languages will allow you to make sence of the other one, since they're both derived from Latin (Romance languages). I'm fluent in Spanish, but I can usually make sense out of French, Portuguese, and Italian, especially if they're written. If you learn French or Spanish, you could probably be fluent in another one of the Romance languages in less than a year, maybe even a few months if you work at it.

Probably the best language to study if you want to go into the UN right now would be Mandarin. Since China is one of the up in coming nations economically right now, it would probably be a good idea to learn their language. Though if you're going into the UN, there is a need for people who speak all major languages, espeically if you want to be a translator. But by far the most generally useful language worldwide right now is probably Mandarin. But be careful, it is a very difficult language to learn to speak fluently, and it will probably take you some time to master it, but it will be worth the effort if you do.

Hey Chrissi.. french is not one of the top 3 langauges spoken in the world. sorry.. haha. Its in like the top ten (maybe) but definitely the top 15. Its like somewhere from 9-15. Just thought ide throw that out there. haha. Although for a job in the UN it would be important, as would any of the languages you listed. try to learn more than 1 or 2!

Well Chinese, French and English are the top 3 spoken languages in the world, and seeing as you already speak English I would say Chinese or French... Although I'd say French would be easier to learn.

The U.N requires you have to be fluent in at least one of their official languages and have a working knowledge of the others: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian. So if you speak one of these languages, you can take up any of these for your class and to increase your chances, take up more than one.
All the best

English, and please reconsider your career choice given the fact that the UN is attempting to control the world population by means of establishing a New World Order, of which would control every aspect of our lives:(
