Not. It would NOT be loving to let people drink gutter water instead of living water. ANYTHING OR ANYONE ELSE in creation WOULD have an ego problem if they wanted to be worshiped because they are unworthy of worship.

God would be unloving if he did not command worship of Himself, since treasuring God the place of ultimate hapiness of people and not treasuring God is the place of ultimate hollowness and sad-isfaction in place of satisfaction

God is not only worthy of worship, but the highest enjoyment of creatures is found in worshiping God.
The human soul is made to be streched by wonder and awe and the only thing wonderful enough to fulfill it is God.

Sex is a mere hint of the wonder of love of Jesus and the church in all time. the Grand canyon is just a hint of the Grandure of God

God is the ultimate in thoughfulness, creativity and wonder. He is the author of delights He is the sourse not only of creation, but the new creation where righteousness will dwell and the great adventure begins of trying to get to know him. Something that will never end or be exhausted to the end of eternity.

And the ultimate treasure. God is the centerpiece of heaven, the streets of gold and gates of pearls are minor fixtures in comparison. God in Christ is reconsiling the world to himself to make a special people to be find their ultimate hapiness and satisfaction in Him where it really is.

God doesn't demand that you worship Him.
He created the world....He gets to make the laws.
He is the boss of the world and He says that if you break His laws, you will get punished. Your punishment is Hell....separation from Him.
Well....since Adam, everyone has sinned. That means everyone has to go to Hell.
God doesn't want everyone to go to Hell, because He loves us...His creation. He wants us to love Him back whether we broke His rules or not. (Do you love your kids when they break the rules?)
He sent His Son to come to Earth so that we could have a relationship with Him. Before Jesus came, the Jews had to sacrifice animals, grain, etc to make up for their sins.
God wanted everyone to be able to have a relationship with Him, so He sent Jesus, who willingly came to be the sacrifice so that all of us could have a relationship with God. Jesus's blood covers our sin, so that God can't see our sin when we have Jesus's blood covering it.
Bottom line.....Heaven is God's Home. He makes the rules. If you don't choose to have a personal relationship with Him, should you live there? Would you have someone living in your home that you didn't have a personal relationship with?

you know, it would seem that way, but we are here to spread His word and get into heaven. He wants us to worship Him because He deserves it. He absolutely deserves the praise. It can't be an ego problem if He deserves it. God is perfect.

You probably don't worship him. Did he smite you yet?

Try having a kid that you love, yet he (or she) refuses to listen to you, probably hates you, while at the same time even questions your existence.
On paper, it sounds easy being God, but I bet in all actuality, there's something to be said about the huge burden of grief that goes with it...

YES! I've always thought so. He's also quite a bit insecure, and violent, and selfish. What a bad role model for all his worshippers to have. Maybe that's why they turn out the way they do :).

Ohh.. Robsthings, excellent answer.

No, God is perfect and without guile. Humans have been corrupted by our sin nature. God loves us and people usually don't love those they expect to worship them, example moviestars.

First of all God is spelled with a capitol "G", second of all don't talk about God like that. You should read the bible. We all need God in our lives. People don't want to realize it.

Well it's obvious, isn't it? What point is it to be a God, of any kind, be it Jesus, Buddah, who ever if there isn't anyone to worship you?! That's kinda the whole point of being the one in charge of everything. :-)

He made us to have a relationship with him. Just like your parents had you because they were ready to be parents. At least some of them thought they were ready. Unlike human parents God wont leave you.
