Because then the bun companies get to make twice the profit - you have to buy two packs of buns to accompany one pack of hot dogs.

Chances are, by the time you get around to making another pack of hot dogs the extra 6 you had the first time will have gone stale - forcing you to by another 2 packs for your next set of dogs too!

I have often wondered the same thing. Now there are some packs of hot dogs that sell the same number in the pack as the buns.

You know....there really is an explanation for that. I saw it on T.V.once but I can't remember it. Now, that's buggin me. (If I think of it, I'll reply back to you.) I will only buy the 8 packs of hot dogs because of that. Who wants a hot dog on a slice of bread? Yuck.

And Mr Bab guy......You've got it backwards and you're rude too.

Have a good day!

The companies producing hot dogs want to get their products sold quickly and get lots of money to make too many more packs of hot dogs.

The last package of Ballpark franks we bought only had 8 hotdogs, so maybe they're taking care of this problem.

It works ok for us either way, since we have a son who doesn't like to eat the bun & just wants his hotdog(s) cut up.

2 people out of 10 are guaranteed to be on Atkins, and will eat their dog without a bun.
