Because of the system that God himself set up. there are natural and spiritual laws. God is not in the business of usurping any of those - that is why he didn't "make" Adam and Eve "do right", they had a will - When Jesus was born into the earth, he came through the lineage that God had ordained - the Jewish people. Read history, the people of that part of the earth - are not white. That is the myth that was spread in order to continue racist practices. Unfortunately, we still live in a world where people believe that Jesus was white - but the bottom line to the believer is that - he had to come through a family lineage - however, that was only the physical part of him. His true identity, deity has nothing to do with the physical. He is a spirit - just as we are spirits first, we live in a body and we possess a soul.

I don't think it was the white southerners that first started painting Jesus as white. I think that that was many many hundreds of years before there were any white southerners.

I am a white Southerner and I don't believe Jesus was white (not that it's important). He was from Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth in the Mediteranean region, making him a light brown or olive-skinned person. The only reason I answered this was to stand up against bigoted, stereotyping people like you who attack EVERYBODY in a certain demographic without getting a broader opinion or more accurate facts.

Jesus skin tone while he was on this earth would have been the same as all the others around him.

Therefore if you look to the area of Jerusalem , you will see the features and skin tone that you are looking for.

Not african, nor pasty white with a tan.

He would look much like the terrorists we see portrayed on our news screens everyday.

IT is not about the outside, but about the inside. I have no need to know what his physical appearance was, but the bible states that he was commom or average and would not have ever stood out in a crowd.
Not handsome, not grotesque. not a charmer, nor a hermit.

Jesus isn't white.....he is a Middle Eastern Jew, an Israelite, being as Israel is in the Middle East. That means, dark brown eyes, brown hair and dark skin......just like the Iranian running the convenience store down the street from your house.

Jesus more than likely was not WHITE. Hello, Jewish from the Middle East (Israel). Olive - to dark tan is more like it, maybe even dark.

Jesus was not white, thank you. He was Israeli, Mediterranean, so His skin was quite dark from the climate and global position of Israel. He was dark olive skinned
