Should I just dump her? She keeps the letters in a shoe box in her room. The whole thing seems rather pathetic. I like her, but I'm not going to waste my time writing letters to her all the time.

Somethings wrong with her ok yeah if she writes you a letter you got to write back but everyday?? You have to let her know that you like her but you have other things to do during the day and if you write to her everyday you guys are going to run out of things to talk about (so she wont get hurt) Good Luck!!

if writing letters bothers you yes you need to DUMP her or she needs to DUMP you because you are not right for each other. there is nothing rough with what she is asking take some time out of your day and think about me.. you are not in love and she is..

Then she should probably dump you. I think it's rather telling that you said you don't want to "waste" your time. If writing letters to your girlfriend is a waste of time then you should probably end the relationship because it's unfair to you and it's unfair to her.
Women like letters, flowers, and small things that show them that you care. Letters are especially great because they cost nothing, but they take time to write. If you're not willing to take time for the girl, then she knows how you really feel.

Well if you two live near one another then tell her straight up that you think it is a little silly to write to her when you can see her just as easily. If she doesn't understand that and she gets mad then you might want to consider dumping her. If she lives far away then it might not work out as well and she is probably hoping that writing to her will keep the relationship going. Either way it is romantic to write a love letter once and a while, but not everyday.

Girls have their fantasies. They're harmless. If you wanted to buy, say a Ferrari at some point in your life, would you divorce your wife because she hates sports cars? There's nothing wrong in doing so. You never know how funny it would be to read those letters when you're 50. I think you shouldn't dump her. Talk to her though, and explain the problem. There must be something else, for sure.

If you don't want to just tell your girlfriend I don't think she will bite you or anything if she takes it the wrong way then just write an awesome heartfelt poem saying that you are sorry and how wonderful she is somewhere in it say that you love her but you don't want to write letters to her every day because you have other things going on.

.....YOU"RE A BIG MEANIE!!! I understand not wanting to write everyday, but then you said that if you wrote letters all the time to her, then your time would be wasted. You're an asshole!!! Obviously she doesn't mean anything to you!! Is it really too much to ask, to sit down 10 minutes each day, and think about her, write about what you did that day......I mean really? If that's too much to ask, then you guys need to break up and save her some major heartache. You're truly a dick!! And she's not pathetic....she really like you! Well if you are that cold and insensitive about it then yes you should dump her. She is trying to be romantic about your relationship. No, guys do not have to write to girlfriends every day but cards are a part of any good relationship.
Buddy you need romance lessons if you ever expect to have a long term relationship.

I think your g/f likes to have things to hang on to. If I were you, I would just tell her your not a big letter writer and write one maybe once a week. Send her a card or flowers, That's what I would like as a girl. Good luck.

I don't think I would dump some one over that. Woman can be sentimental. If it bother you that much, just explain to her that although you do lover her, writing just isn't something that you prefer and or have time for due to your hectic schedule. I think if you can reassure her of how you feel in some other way, she may cut you some slack.

Well, the letters don't have to be very long or in depth. You could just write her a letter that says "Thinking of you" and she would love it.
