Calories are the energy you burn in a day. Haha. So simply monitor what you are actually doing, with what you are actually eating. It's really that simple. Eat a larger breakfast (don't complain about being FAT if you don't eat breakfast) and a smaller dinner, nothing after 8pm. Take away only the coffee and soda from your diet and drink your water. You can eat 3 meals a day without soda and coffee this way, and you'll be able to eat anything you want. Put your body back on track, just by eating raw, unprocessed foods... Start with fruits. And come on, no fast food.

Smoothies are a much better alternative to coffee and are naturally sweet and will provide a much more fulfilling boost to start the day without being empty calories.

It depends how tall you are.

I am 5'10" 179lbs and have lost 31lbs in the bast 2 1/2months from eating less then 1100 calories a day. It also depends on how strong your body is. I'm 20 so I won't get as tired as say a 30/40/50year old would. If you know what your body can handle, then you can stretch your limit to the max. Losing weight is in your head, whether you are mentally strong enough cut back on the things that you love, such as junk food.

For women regular calorie intake should be around 1800-less than 2000 a day, so I guess 800-1200 a day if you want you lose weight healthily. I guess smaller if you're one of those radical rapid weight loss people.

I suggest you follow the exchange diet below. Exchange diets offer maximum flexibility while ensuring that you eat a well balanced diet. Forget calories. Just adjust the number of exchanges until you are losing about one pound per week.

==============================================

To loose weight: eat a balanced diet, eat less, and exercise more.
To keep the weight off, you should lose about 1 pound per week.
Spot reducing (e.g. from waist or thighs) does not work.

Depends on how much you exercise or burn off a day. Take in somewhere around 1500 calories.
