One of the last two options: ordinary man or just a myth. As far as I know, Jesus Christ was a normal man that may or may not have existed about 2000 years ago.

Jesus is the son of God, but so are we all. There are many paths back to God, not only one. We are all here to learn and grow. Jesus had great wisdom. He was a great teacher. His job was to bring a message.

Jesus was an ordinary man, who was able to achieve his Christ status by becoming the Christ that was within him. Much like Buddah became aware and reached Nirvana. Once he bcame that which all of us should aspire, he was able to become the teacher he was.
We can all do this, it is just a question of seeking to do it.
He said it over and over, "I am the Son of Man". He never claimed to be the son of god.
