My question to those people is: Aren't you violating the laws of the Bible?
u should burn any priests daughter alive if she commits adultery( Leviticus 21:9)
and also if anyone rapes a virgin he should give her father some money and marry her as punishment (Deuteronomy 22:28)
from my point of view i see the woman is the one who is being punished
if she is not a virgin u should stone the rapist 2 death
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son u should stone him to death according to
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
and
"If any of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone..." John 8:7

About that...

The Law/Torah/Pentateuch is written as a contract between God and Israel for the OLD covenant, summarized in Deuteronomy. But Christians "signed" the NEW covenant.

Secondly, as for the raped woman having to marry her rapist, this is the kindest thing to do in that situation. The raped woman would be shameful, scorned, and would probably remain single her whole life, and being a single woman in the ANE was the WORST fate possible. Marriage back then was all about the husband supporting the wife. But if the poor raped woman was unable to marry anyone besides her rapist, she would have been left to die, basically.

And, finally, about the stoning of the rebellious son:

This "son" doesn't necessarily mean that he's a six-year-old who won't clean his room! In verse 20, the sins of gluttony and drunkeness were being committed, not just a child back-sassing his parents. And the Hebrew words for "stubborn" and "rebellious" are active participles, saying that this "son" is doing this habitually or continually. This is probably better for the community, because a drunk person cooould potentially damage the whole village, or a glutton could eat up what little food they had. And both drunkeness and gluttony could prevent this child from providing for himself or his family.

On a final note, read Crenshaw's Education in Ancinet Israel to see more about why this is so "harsh".

First all those reference points you just stated all come from the old testament The old testament was done away with when the new testament came so thats why there is no need to do all that cause christians are held accountable so if they do these things then they will get punished how God sees fit so does that answer youre question also the old testament is there to show how things were and that it also gives in sight into things like wisdom knowledge so it goes hand in hand

The bible is an out dated story book publishing the ideals of barbaric men from ages ago. The practices in the book are not used today because people have seen the fault in them, and why punish a virgin for being rapped by having her marry her rappist. I find that sick. The bible is too harsh for some and not harsh enough for other punishments. It may serve as a moral compass for some but it really does a foul job of doing any of such because people today look really stupid living up to ideals of men of years long past

Jesus (God) came to earth as a human and died so he could take the penalty for all sins. He fulfilled the law so that "harsh" punishments were no longer necessary. In one instance Jesus was asked how should punish a woman caught in adultry. He said as you quoted, "If any of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone. (killing the woman according to Old Testament law) " Since everyone has sinned, no one was worthy to throw a stone. He was saying these harsh punishments were no longer necessary. He went on to forgive the woman and tell her not to sin any more.

It also says to obey the laws of the land. The laws have changed.
Why do you pick and choose passages from the Old Testament to try and start trouble? You can't really be that ignorant of the Bible or that bored, can you?
See, look at all the people that hate for no reason and judge everyone's beliefs by the comments here.
Hopefully you'll find something better to do with your time than stir up trouble.
Very Sad.

nicely, even as Jesus got here and rose from the useless he paid for the sins we've committed. that doesn't launch us from duty in any respect. If a christian receives a divorce even as a christian, (till their better 0.5 has committed adultery antagonistic to them) they're going antagonistic to the marriage covenant. in case you get carry of divorced previous to starting to be a christian and married somebody else, you're to proceed to be trustworthy to that marriage vow. for the reason that Jesus stopped an complete crowd from stoning a prostitute, i imagine he also will preserve us from the incorrect-doing we dedicate. Adultery is something that the fellow can might want to face on their judgement day. I agree that that's pathetic that such an excellent style of people "fall out of love" even as our forefathers managed to hack it. So many times now different urges pull the husband and spouse aside (Porn, drugs, Materialism, and Extramarital Affairs.) Even 100 years in the past, an adulterer would have confronted huge oppression and would have probably moved to a sparkling city the position no individual knew them. It sounds like you've been damage. Are you ok?

I think you answered it with your last reference. No one is without sin, Christ taught forgiveness and kindness. Your other quotes are all old testament but you don't see Jews stoning people. Keep in mind that the bible was written thousands of years ago and that a lot of it doesn't stay current to date. It also talks very specifically about not going around a woman when she is on her period in the old testament. No one does that anymore either.

The laws were replaced with the sacrifice, Hebrews chapter 7 talks about it, saying that Jesus was a priest of a new order, and with a new priesthood comes new laws. In this case they are the laws of grace mercy and forgiveness. We are now to follow the example of Christ, the head of the new priesthood. He's the one who said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

we need to realize that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus came and shed his blood so we can be saved. We are called to love everybody no matter what sin they have committed. Jesus hung out with the sinners. We are living in the New Testament era. This is the new covenant with Jesus. Not that this does away with the Old Testament.
