Absolutely not. You're only removing the mold you can see. The mold has permeated the bread into parts you cannot see.

Throw the bread away and get a new loaf. It's cheaper than risking food poisoning.

The spores that generated the mould are still there, even if you can't see them. The bread probably won't kill you (penicillin is made from mould) but why take a chance on an upset tummy when you can get a new loaf for a buck?
If this is a frequent problem -- if you live alone, or don't eat much bread -- try separating a loaf into three parts and freezing two of them to use later.

Cutting mould off food is a really bad idea. Therefore if there's any mould anywhere on your food, the best place for it is in the bin.
It is possible to remove the mould from some foods and eat the remainder without harm, however, to do so does pose some risk in most cases and is therefore not advised. This is a quote from a doctor - "The problem with mould toxins is they don't make you sick straight away like bacterially toxins. Like food poisoning, they can be longer acting, they can be carcinogenic and so while it may be fine, it may not make you sick, it's probably not good to do this sort of thing on a frequent basis because every time you are exposed to a carcinogen you have a greater chance of eventually developing some sort of problem."

Yes. In fact there is mold on even "fresh" bread. The mold won't kill you if you accidently eat some.

If you're lucky you'll even get a very small dose of penicillian. If you are allergic to it, don't worry, it's not that much to cause a problem. I just found two little spots of mold on a roll I packed for lunch. I just picked them off and poppled the roll into my mouth and I............ arg, choking... things going black.......... hard to stand.....................

Just kidding ;-)

Yes, it is safe. I have done it. Although I'd get another loaf. Depending how bad it is also, if it has just a few spots, sure, go ahead, but if it is half molded, toss it, it's going to be nasty!

certain, certain, certain. many people ate moldy bread and lived to inform about it. It does no damage. The bread gained't flavor that tremendous, even after the mildew is bumped off, even if it gained't damage you.

yes, if you're going to toast it. I personally won't eat it after seeing mold, though.
