They do this and then claim not to be flirting? Are they trying to be cute or vainglorious?

Because we are gurls and we like cute and fuzzy little things. And we all try to be cute and adorable, so we show this through creative writing and such. Man do you need to learn a lot about women!

Sometimes, it's easier to express your feelings in writing. Some girls start experimenting with hearts and smileys when they start writing in grade school. To some, it is just a habit.

The whole "love" thing is complicated. Sometimes, people are just so accumstomed to writing it, they forget that to others it has a deeper meaning. Sometimes, they are trying to tell you how they feel.

As I have gotten older, I worry less about what people will think. If I love someone (as a friend), I sign my letters with love. This life is too short not to let people know how you feel about them.

I think most just sign things that way because it's how they have always done it. It seems like the cute cheerleader type of signing. I, however, don't sign things that way. I take "love" a lot more serious than that. It is probably not flirting though.

well i use smileys or other little pics to show what emotion or face i am making in a letter or email. i do it b/c i feel like it helps to convey my point. also, if the message i am sending is heavy or sad or mean i use smileys to make it a little more lighthearted. i do it to try to be nice, not to flirt. i had no idea it was coming across that way.

Hell, it's just a girl thing. We do it most of the time just not even thinking about it. It's a natural thing that we do. Some of us can be flirting and honestly not know that we are.

The written word is very plain and cold - you add your own flavor to things by adding a personal touch. It also expresses your feelings.

always is such a large word. Usually that behavior stops after about 15. Unless they become a teacher.

I don' t know why they do this *lol*. I never do. And would still love to consider myself a woman. There are more elegant ways of flirting.
