And I'm not saying if people don't decorate then that means they don't have a soul. Read Pegacita's response, shes my mom, and then answer.

My goat just decorated the kitchen with her droppings. Destroyed the basilicum last night (which I had just saved from the ants [see my question earlier]) and knows very well that I'm angry with her. If she has a soul I don't know. I do know that she'll end up on the barbeque.

because animals in my opinion do have souls, and just because they do not decorate the house doesn't mean they do not. There are alot of people that do not decorate the house and just sit, sleep, and eat but they have souls. So what exactly is your point?

Since when does decorating your house give you a soul? Look at most men, they don't decorate anything and we don't ask if that means they have no soul.

An odd question to ask. But perhaps you don't see them 'decorate the house' because you don't look at it 'with their eyes'.

Birds feather their nest with all kinds of things they find, not just twigs. A male will do it to improve chances of attracting a female.

Squirrels too, like to collect bright shiny objects which they keep in their nests. Why? They can't eat them, it could be that they find them attractive. Would you describe that as 'decorating' ?

If you try looking at animal behaviour this way, perhaps you may find the 'souls' you are looking for.

Hope this helps

Animals don't have souls, but what does that have to do with decorating a house?

In Their way they do decorate the house, their own house which is naturally the out of doors. They certainly beautify and enhance it. AS far as the soul goes,I believe that all of Gods creation has soul, spirit. Thanks for a thought provoking question.

No, you misunderstand... Animals lack vanity. They do not need gaudy, overpriced crap from the home and garden store to feel superior to everyone and everything around them. Therefore, their souls are purer.

If you say animals have no souls, then humans can have no souls. Sorry, but we are primates, and we are mammals, whether it offends you or not. Faith is a matter of opinions. Nothing can be proven or disproven, and it is fruitless to argue about it. Religion, whether it be Christian, Buddhism, Scientology, Druidism, or whatever you decide to tag yourself with, is something personal and should be held as so.

Myself, I refuse to go to *any* afterlife without animals. That would indeed be hell. I'd rather rest in oblivion.

My husband has a soul, and I don't see him decorating the house, either.

My husband doesn't decorate, but I am fairly certain he has a soul. And by the way, no one can see a soul so how do you know they don't. Are you privy to information about the afterlife? because if so I'ld like that memo too.

I have an idea where you're coming from.....
Our soul is the place where we love, worship God and express our feelings. People express their feelings by doing artwork, writing poetry or writing anything....kind of the "artsy" part of our brain is where our soul is.
I guess you don't really see dogs or any animal "decorating" their home because everything in there has a purpose. Like....birds don't only choose pink fibers to make their nest because pink is their favorite color. My dog likes a particular towel in his kennel and he rearranges it to make himself more comfortable, but I don't think he's trying to "express himself" that way. He loves me, but is it because I feed him, walk him and snuggle with him?

Animals don't seek out their creator.....they don't express themselves by writing poetry or painting pictures. They don't express their love for you buy getting you birthday presents, changing the oil or vacuuming. They don't look for items that are in their home just for decoration that remind them of someone they love or something they love.

So, I guess people have a different interpretation of what a soul is....define soul....
