Screw the family! Is he a good guy? Does he treat you right? Does he lift you up or keep you down? Does he encourage you and your dreams? Why does your family dislike him? Families are notorious for thinking anyone their girl or guy dates is not good enough for them. Forget that! I chose my guy, I love my guy, I married my guy. My Mom thought he was beneath me, but I chose my future spouse. He is good to me, treats me like a queen, loves me even in my craziness, supports me even when I don't make sense. He listens to me and respects my opinion. He TRUSTS me, no matter how far apart we are. If I had listened to my family, I'd not be married to this wonderful man and have 3 awesome children. In time my family all came to like him because they saw how wonderful his is to me and how happy he makes me. Its YOUR life, not theirs. Don't live to please everyone else!!!

Gurl I'm in the same situation you in right now, don't listen to the fam follow you heart. If you wanna be with him then stay if you wanna go then leave. Don't breakup because of you fam don't like him. It's not like your fam having sex with him, you is. Do you don't listen to what other people have to say. Hope everything work out.

As long as you believe he is a good guy and he treats you good it shouldn't matter what everyone else thinks.....I'm going through the same problem with my family and they are pushing me away from them. It's not right to make someone choose like that especially when they really don't know him all that well.

if u r sure about him. or if u both share the same love and feel the same passion and if u both are serious about each other. all u have to do stay with him and later ur family will come around.

For starters - you're never going to be able to please everyone in your family, that's just how it is.
Trying to convince your family probably won't work either, it's usually something they have to come to terms with themselves.
If you're happy then that's all that matters.
