A girl gave birth to and abandoned a baby in the Jack in the Box down the road from my house yesterday. What on earth would cause a person to do something like that? I mean, the lack of cleanliness alone makes me shudder.

I am still trying to find more info as to the baby's health.

It is unfortunate that people feel that this is the only way. The Safe Haven Law is there for a reason but some are still just not getting it. How is the baby now? Is it safe?
I've been hearing about desperate people doing much worse to a newborn.

She hope someone would find it soon. Better then dumping it out into a lake or river. Or putting it in a trash bag and tieing it up. then again, she wanted get rid of it. She could had put it up for adoption. But sounds like she was hiding her pregnancy from someone or family.
The law has change, that a mother who do not what her child. Can leave it at the fire department, police department, or church. The baby would have been better off, being drop off at one of thoses three places.
It makes me so mad. There people who wants kids but can't have any. There are some who can, and end up doing that. Or worse going as far as to kill them.

this girl must have been afraid. She must have been young too. Somethings are to upsetting, and the only way they can fix it, is to get rid of it ( in this case it was a child) its sad but true. Young people are afarid to tell their parents, they dont want to get into trouble. So they try to act as if nothing happend and get rid of the evidence. Its so sad that, it has to come to this. And its even more sad that, that girl will probley get pregnant again and do everything all over again.

WHo knows these days. Its really sad that people cant just be honest with boyfriends/husbands/parents about something like this. Or at least see a Dr or something. Even go to the ER to deliver. Its crazy.

I have no Idea why a mother would do that. they can take them to the fire department or just dropped it off at a hospital, and wouldn't have been in trouble, why at a Jack in the box? some people are just not very smart.

One word: desperation.

It is sad and scary to think that so many women feel they have no choice when they get pregnant....unfortunately, their choice was about using birth control beforehand or someone never taught them all about sex in the first place......

i live in jacksonville, florida and all over town there are signs that say 'safe place'. they can be found in hopitals, police stations, churches and even libraries. they are there for woman like the one you are talking about and anyone else who needs help. i think it's sad that we've come to this point, but it's good to know those places are there.

this lady fell pregnant and instead of having the child aborted she decided to give the baby to someone that will look after this child because she wasn't having the support she needed

She left it in a public place so it would be found soon. At least she didn't leave it in a dumpster
