I went to the doctor last Sunday and they said I had an ear infection and he gave me meds for pain and an antibiotic. Today is Wednesday now and I am still in pain and that feeling like i have cotton in my ear. Is this normal or should I go back to the doctor?

just hang in their BY THE TIME YOU FINISH YOUR MED. AND KEEP WATER OUT OF YOUR EAR IT WILL BE WELL IT TAKES ABOUT 7-10 DAY TO CLEAR UP HAPPY DAY

you should start feeling significantly better within 36 hours of first dose of antibiotic...if not then call the doctor and talk to a nurse or the doctor about what to do next...they may want to see you again or change the meds or have you monitor situation for a few more hours

relies upon.... discharge from the ear comes from the middle ear whose mucous membrane contains the goblet cellular which it turn secretes that discharge,,, your listening to is muffled because of the disturbed conduction of sound in the mucous crammed passage.... i'm a medical student doing my ENT at present so i'm suprised that your record prescribed for systemic(oral) antibiotic. till you had systemic manisfestation of an infection like fever i fairly dont imagine that oral antibiotic is needed. many times eardrop does the trick. Now depending even if ure otitis media(ear an infection) is acute or persistent the time taken to heal will selection. i'd recommend you to seek for advice out of your record once extra

usually a week and its normal because antibiotics takes a few days to cure
