My corneas. I'd do it, basically, because they don't have to be immediately "harvested*," and, to my knowledge (I could be wrong about this) the recipient doesn't have to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of his/her life.
*With other organs, they're basically like vultures, waiting for you to die. And then they might have you hooked up to life support just so that they can harvest your organs and keep the organs alive when the rest of you is dead.
And, not only that, but the person who gets your organs has to wipe out their immune system, so they're just as subject to getting an "opportunistic infection" and dying from THAT as a person who has full-blown AIDS. My mother took very expensive drugs to wipe out her immune system for the last decade of her life, because she had Rheumatoid Arthritis, and that's how she died...this, after years of misery from constantly being ill. (It was like, "Do you want to die from the RA, or do you want to die from something else? " It was truly a frying-pan-or-fire situation with her, and seeing her die like that made me reassess my opinion of a LOT of medical procedures--including transplants.)

I donated my kidney a little over a month ago. Why did I do it? Because I had an extra one, it does not limit my lifespan, and he will live a long life with his wife and children.
Sympathy sees, and says, "I'm sorry." Compassion feels, and whispers, "I'll help."

I am an organ donor for all of my organs when I die, but I guess if while I am still alive and someone needed a kidney or piece of liver I would do that, too. I am also on the bone marrow donor list. I would want someone to do this for me or one of my loved ones, so I am willing to do this for someone else.
