Since jesus isn't the only one who claimed to be the messiah, then how can I believe that he is the true one? Where is the proof? My next door neighbor believes he is the messiah, who am i to say he isn't?

Belief is a choice. You can choose to believe that Jesus is the Messiah or you can choose not to believe it. That is up to you.

The Islamic Religion addresses this by saying that Jesus did not claim to be "the messiah" but a prophet like Moses, Abraham and Mohammed (peace be upon them). The Torah has a description of "the messiah". They claim he hasn't come yet. Christians claim that Jesus was "the messiah" and fits the description in the Torah. However, the original description in the Torah has been changed through the years. The old testament which is a changed version of the Torah does not include the description.

I personally believe that Mohammed (peace be upon him) was the last prophet or "the messiah".

Jesus had many eyewitnesses. It took mere weeks for the watergate scandle to unravel and the witnesses couldnt keep their stroies straight but the apostles went to their deaths confessing Jesus died and rose from the dead. Since he came back from the dead, he has the answers to life and death. Even his enemies agreed Jesus did miracles.

Jesus is the only living Jew who can prove himself a descendant of David from both the legal father Joseph's side and his Mother Mary's side. Additionally to being born in Bethlehem and a Gallillean he did miracles. One of the most convincing things is that he came at the right time.

The Jews were in captivity 70 years because they didnt let the ground rest every 7 years and owed God 70 years and went to Babylon until the ground had its rest. Danield knew the time was near the end and prayed for insight and God also told him about hte next 70x7 years where in the 69th week of years prophesy woul dbe sealed, eternal righteousness brought in and interestingly and perhaps strange sounding the Messiah would die

This is well documented to be come to around 31AD and clearly there is only one messiah who can fill that bill at that time. Jesus

Interestingly, Daniel in chapter 3 says God will have the everylasting kingdom

Daniel in chapter 7 says the son of man will come in the clouds and have the everlasting kingdom.

In Jesus God and the Son of man have the everlasting kingdom
no other contenders fit hte bill

Check the Bible, which states in several places, the way to judge a prophet is to watch his words. If his predictions come true, he is speaking for God. If not, he is a false prophet. Jesus, in addition to being Messiah, was a prophet.

This is why the Jehovah Witnesses are a false branch of Christianity. They have prophecied numerous things, none of which have come true. But, you won't get one to admit this.

I am a christian. I believe 100% in the bible. your question is a very common question. I left 2 sites that are good resourses for better understanding. I personally believe because of faith. christianity is the only religion where you dont have to earn your way to heaven. Jesus is the only way through the Father, why not believe in him? the consequence is what...if you believe in Jesus you go to heaven paradise beyound our human understanding and if you dont you spend eternity in hell. If you read the bible and study it, you will find out the predictions that talk about what is going on in the world now. I have been a christian 20 years and still finding new things about the bible and learning from the powerful words of God. The issuses going on in the world are spoken of in the bible. Im talking about specific issues.Jesus, 100% man 100% God he died for our sins freely and willingly. All he wants is to let Him love you and show you the blessings he has for you. I will pray for you that God will touch your heart and open your eyes to reveal His love to you clearly and openly. I love my Jesus cause he first loved me.

Christianity? Jesus? Dying?

What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?

(NOT A VIRGIN BIRTH! - betcha never knew that.)

Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Gods do not die? Do they?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us? Big deal!

If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.

If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

If you swallow this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to swallow it too.

Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.

Believing and not thinking is like choosing a mental illness and becoming lost.

One of the things that generally seperates Jesus from the others who claim to be "messiah" is that he was ressurected, which proved his divinity. And after he ressurected I he appeared before hundreds of people before he ascended back to heaven

I think it's the miracles that have them convinced.

I don't know but I saw David Copperfield do some amazing things.

I won't try to change your opinion, one way or the other.

For me and my faith, I don't accept that Jesus was the messiah.
See the link for details.

YOU will have to do your OWN research and follow your heart as to whom to believe.

Good luck.
