Most pups chew either becuase they are bored or they are teething. If it is the first part, get him some chew bones, if it is the latter, many pet stores sell chewing aids that will help alot!

You don't. Dogs need to chew. Redirect your pup's attention to a LARGE pressed rawhide bone, Kong or Nylabone. Be sure to take it away when it becomes small enough to swallow. Only have two or three dog toys out - if she has too many toys, she will think that EVERYTHING loose in the house is hers to chew. When you can't supervise the pup's activity, she should be in a crate with her bone!

Train her the same way you should train her to leave anything else alone. Show her something she's not supposed to have and give her a sharp leash correction and say "NO!" - then give her a toy she is supposed to have and have a happy play session. Practice about ten times a day with different items. It's pretty useless correcting her AFTER she's already done it - she looks guilty because she knows you're mad, but that won't stop her behavior at the decision-making point next time.

First off give that pup enough toys to chew on, and use bitter apple where you do not want her chewing a BORED pup will chew anything for comfort. If she is chewing up your house, you need to crate train her so that she does not have access to the furniture when she is not supervised. Make sure that she is getting a good diet of crunchy food also. Lots of water, and plenty of attention. If you catch her chewing , sternly tell her "NO CHEW!!!!" and move her from that area to her crate. Good Luck!

You don't, puppy's are going to chew. It's up to you to teach her what she can chew on. Provide her with plenty of permit table chews. A kong filled with treats is a good one. When she picks up the wrong thing tell her no, take it away and give her what she can chew on. When she picks up the right thing on her own praise her a lot, she'll catch on. Also, with a rottie obedience training is a must as is plenty of exercise.

Puppy teeth begin to be replaced by permanent adult teeth at about four months of age. It's very annoying for the poor dog, get some soothing chews (appropriate for her size and weight) and she'll love you for ever.

If you catch her chewing something inappropriate say "No" and give her something she's allowed to chew. She'll soon get the idea.

The best way I think is to get her special chew toys. Bones are a good choice, but DO NOT give her bones from poultry. If she is chewing your stuff just whack her on the nose firmly and say, "NO," in a stern voice. Your dog is chewing because her teeth are growing in and she wants to play.

i have a little puppy also and she used to chew everything because she is teething but i got this spray from petsmart its called bitter yuck and u can spray it on the stuff she chews like shoes furniture socks, its safe for everything, once she puts her mouht so chew it she will taste that bitter taste and never go for that again, it actually works, another thing i did was make sure she always has lots of bones on the floor so that way she can chew on those rather than my shoes :) good luck and also when she does that try not to say no because we use that word so offten that they get confused my dog trainer told us to try to use WRONG that was when she hears that word she knows she did something bad. good luck :)

Make sure you have lots and lots of chew toys...and try your best to distract her with them...we used a squirt bottle to keep my moms rottie from chewing on people...but she chewed stuff up what seemed like FOREVER...just dont get discouraged they are the BEST dogs!

You can't make a puppy stop chewing, at that age she is still cutting teeth, shedding her baby teeth and getting her adult teeth. The trick is to teach her what is hers to chew on. Make sure you have plenty of chew toys, and rawhide bones for her. I do not recommed Greenies due to a serious choking risk. Dogs chew, it's part of thier nature. You just have to make sure that your valuables are put away and give her appropriate things to chew on. Tonja (basset mom for years)

Make sure the puppy isn't bored so she wont chew on everything in sight. Play with her often. Maybe she should have another pup to accompany her.
