Depends on the lifestyle you have. If you have a hectic lifestyle and are rarely at home, then probably not. Dogs need a lot of attention and love and training. You should probably get a cat or have no pet at all. Only get a dog if you have the time to raise it properly

As long as it's not some little yappy toy dog. You have to be able to wrestle with a dog. A mongrel preferably, they have better character.
Cats are evil and can't be trusted.

You can say that again my Lab is like having another kid in the house. He is a brother to my 9 yr old daughter since I can not have any more kids because of my health.

Yes, they are easy to train, very loyal, and love to play...it's hard to train a cat...to do things like roll over and what not. Also, it's more convenient to go outside and potty than to have to clean a litter box
