Since you say you have Strep which can only be diagnosed by a culture, I'm guessing you've already been to a Doctor and have been taking antibiotics.

The fluid and pressure that builds up in the ears during an upper respiratory infection can take weeks to fully resolve -- even after the antibiotics have killed the infection. Just make sure to take all the antibiotics as prescribed.

If you're not on any kind of decongestants, consider calling the doctor to ask if that would be OK for you, and what he suggests you take in order to help your ears clear up. If you can, take Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) instead of Tylenol for the pain, as it also has anti-inflammatory properties that might help open the Eustachian tubes to allow the fluid to drain and the air pressure to be equalized.

The ringing in your ears (tinnitus) will subside as the condition resolves. It is usually made louder when your ear's are infected because the sounds around you are muffled by the fluid and pressure in the ear, and the extra blood that flows to the area as part of the healing process.
