I want some highlights, but don't want to look like all the other dark haired girls that have these skunky looking highlights. They go blonde or orange, nasty. Any suggestions?

Your best bet would to go get it professionally done and tell them what you want and they will tell you your options. You don't have to get "chunky" or as u call it skunky,....you can have them but subtle small highlights throughout. With darker hair colors, it does turn orange until it gets to the lighter stage under that, which would be blond or caramel, depending on what you want to go for, that is something that a professional can achieve for you, if you do it on your own with that dark of hair, you are asking for unexpected and unwanted results! :) Good luck!

I am latina too leave your hair alone and plus when i got highlights my hair got dry!! and looked gross after i straightened it!! its better to have dark hair anyways its worth it than damaging it!! so don't highlight it. there are many blonde colors that go with your skin tone so ask your hairstylist, otherwise i Really don't know!!

Talk to your hair stylist and ask her what options you have. I've had highlights before (I'm also latina with thick dark hair) and my stylist didn't use bleach so they were'nt blonde or orange. They were a sublte light golden brown. Bleach not only damages your hair, it doesnt work well for black hair.

do to the drug keep, %. up the product said as jolen. it really is a hair bleacher for mustache, eyebrows. i take advantage of all of it the time rather of hair dye. yet you could be careful. once you take advantage of it, use it 2 to three months @ a time. because it really is lightening the hair, no matter if it really is used too a lot it really is going to reason breakage genuine undesirable. yet another selection i take advantage of which i stumble on truly solid is hydrience hair color. it under no circumstances takes my hair out nor does it ever make my hair skinny, and it has a superb sheen and golden glow to it. it doesnt even over procedure our hair. i used it two times interior one week, 2 diverse finished hair lack of life, and it didnt even take my hair out or damage it. it really is the excellent hair dye round.

Highlights are silly, but if you had to, you could try very, very, dark blue; it compliments black nicely.

find a L'Oreal Professionnel salon. they have what's called majilift that goes to light brown and stays in the realm of tan rather than orange.
