Not at all. Actually if you eat cereal for breakfast and lunch and then have a regular dinner you can lose weight.

That would really depend on how large of a serving we are talking about, the type of cereal you are eatting and how it fits into the rest of your daily calorie intake. There are simply too many variables in this equation to give you a simple answer. For my 200+ lb brother, who works as a fire fighter, spends at least four hours a day training and eats a balanced diet, a large bowl of Cheerios fits fine into his diet. I am much smaller, less active and trying to lose weight, all I need is the recommended 3/4-1 cup.

One large serving of cereal a day won't hurt you if you aren't overweight already. If you have more than one bowl a day make the servings smaller and wait a couple of hours between bowls.

You're better off eating one small bowl of cereal, then another after a couple of hours to give your body a chance to digest/burn off the first bowl. Excess calories your body doesn't need (like with all large meals) are stored in your body as FAT.
