my wife and i were invited to go with my brother and his wife, the only problem is we have a six week old. but my mom said she would go and help with the baby should we go or just stay home

Yes.
Cedar point has rest stations, baby changing stations in the rest rooms & they are also well-equipped with first aid stations.
If you stay on the point in one of their hotels, they even have baby sitting services, however, I realize with a 6 week old, you may very well be reluctant to do that.
