teething only causes a fever if there is an infection in the gums due to the teeth coming in. just give ibuprofen (in the proper dosage by weight) and see if it helps. if the fever doesn't go away or if your child become lethargic, consult your pediatrician because something else may be wrong.

Teething does not cause fevers! This is an old wives' tale.
Fevers are from viruses & infection. She probably has a slight virus, and coincidentally is also teething.
Give her the recommended dosage of infant tylenol. This will take down the fever, and also help with the pain of teething. If the fever is over 101, then baby needs to be taken to the doctor for an ear check.

teething dosn't cause a fever,
pediatrician Dr. William Feldman says fevers happen between four months and two and a half years of age when children are exposed to many viruses and bacteria, and it’s unwise to automatically blame illness on teething. His concern is that if parents simply chalk up their child’s fever to teething, a more serious illness can be missed. "If there is a fever which accompanies this, it's usually caused by a virus that just happens to be there at the same time."

fever show something is going on in the body. the average temp is 98.6, but a normal temp can range from 96.0-99.0. a fever when teething is because the body has inflamation and inflamation causes a slight fever. But if the fever is higher then 100.3 then it is most likely not teething causing it.
