Yes, dear, some of us do understand. Actually it makes me want to puke when I hear someone say that. To me they are putting themselves in the place of God and exalting themselves above the Holy Spirit. It's His job to lead someone to the Light...and they grieve the Spirit with their mean condemnations. They forget that they, too, were once "going to hell." Yet they're not on that path anymore, are they? Who's to say you may change paths someday.... No...they should not do that.

Why should an atheist be insulted if he's told he's going to hell? It is my understanding that atheists are people who claim they don't believe in God, so why would the ideas of Heaven and Hell concern them at all??
Why would a fundamentalist (or anyone else) be insulted by being told we evolved from apes? The first impulse would be to correct the speaker...both men and apes evolved from a common ancestor, or so I've been assured. It was all a very long time ago, who cares? Science needs to be concerned with solving the problems the world is facing today....

I think that atheists feel insulted by that phrase, because they think that they made an intellectual choice by not believing that Jesus Christ is the way and the truth and the life, and no one will go to the Father's house except through Him.

Because we Christians believe that the Bible is the God's life manual for us, we believe that if you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we have to deliver time to time the phrase of hell to the conversation. So no one would miss the point. As we have a lot of choices here on the earth...what comes to eternity, there are only two choices:hell and heaven.

I believe that a lot of Christians are going to hell too.

I guess they get offended when told they are going some place they do not even believe exists? I am a Christian and I would never tell someone that, Christian or not. Unless I'm pissed off and it's more like this "Go to hell a** hole!!!" But that phrase I never use when trying to make a relgious conviction, lol

But I agree with the guy above. You offend us all the time when you say our beliefs are fairy tale like and are nothing but myths and blah, blah, blah. You guys always go off on some tangent on how to disprove our beliefs. In any case I don't create a judgemental blog to retliate...

Atheism would not have a concept gadget, purely the opinion that there is not any God. No my possibilities of going to heaven or hell relies upon on me. If my deeds are 50/50 reliable or undesirable then perchance your calculation would be suitable What do you advise in atheism. Atheism means which you do no longer think of God exist. it particularly is it. So what do you advise by way of "In atheism"? Who the F'ok is we, so are atheist a team or some thing, a membership? so which you offering an determination? an determination in line with what....hmmmm......oh yeah atheism isn't in line with something different than you do no longer think of God exist. whilst you're Buddhist that is one element, yet you're no longer. you're an atheist devoid of philosophy or concept. Even Buddhist have that. Atheists do no longer, perchance for this reason they dangle around them like misplaced domestic dog canines. they choose that experience of belonging. No you do no longer make experience, now end putting with Mary Jane till now posting questions.

Honestly, I'm not insulted by people saying I evolved from an ape. So no, I don't understand why an atheist would be insulted by someone saying "You are going to Hell" (besides the fact that its just kind of mean).

Certainly we understand, but for us it is like saying that "the bridge is out" and you want to try and cross. We have two opposing views. But at least some of us understand that is could be insulting..
If you murder that man you will go to jail.. The murderer will be offended, but if he does, he will go..
Most christians don't do it to be offensive, but as a warning. Like the electrical guys, I had to warn them.. They got away with it this time, but one day they won't.
A lot of the questions here have brought me to study more what I believe and find out what others believe (in spite of the spiteful questions) I have studied evolution, Islam, and other things more as well as my Bible. I am more than ever convinced of the Bible than when I started coming here. I see how people have been decieved into believing what they do more than ever.. The David Hawkings question got over 8,000 answers last I looked.. Even Jim Darwin never had answers like that.. LOL

You still have time to repent and ask forgiveness.

You must be a guy, because every women that has become a mother knows what it is to bring life into the world. That's how God felt when He created you, and you insult Him this way.

Its you and people like you that are included in prayers by Christians all over the world today in hopes that salvation can be yours.

Christians need to understand that athiests do not believe in hell or heaven or god its self. They feel that life just happens. This is a logical explanation, as valid as the beliefs of the christians. I do not believe that anyone has the right to condemn people to hell for believing differently. We each can control our own destinies. Nobody has the right to dictate who goes to hell and who doesnt, not even a minister. He is just reading out of an out dated story book anyways. People wanted an answer to what happend after death and could not bring themselves to think that they would just rot, so they invented heaven along with thier god, and when they didnt want bad people with them they created hell. Which bad is rather subjective.

I'm not sure why it would be offensive.

I am a christian but can understand why such a statement would be somewhat perplexing seeing as atheists do not believe in hell.

If I were to put myself in the shoes of said Atheist I think I would be somewhat confused, and might try to explain to the christian who said that, that their statement didn't scare me because I don't believe in hell, but I don't think I would be offended.

On another note I can't stand fundamentalists in Christianity, or any other religion for that matter, who condemn anyone and everyone who doesn't believe the way that they do, and anyone who says "YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!" probably is one of those fundamentalists.

Insulted or not, I do believe there will be no atheist's in Hell, for all will know and every knee shall bow, but at that point they will no longer be anything but believers

SO the true statement would be, when you get to hell, you will be a believer.
