I know the Hinduism & Buddhism religions define karma as the state of one's current life based on their actions in a previous life (re-incarnation). Well I'm not into all of that, but I believe what goes around comes around. Is that actually karma, spirituality, or just good advice?

I believe in Karma - and that it will bite you in the butt if you are not careful. I also believe in Kismet - its kinda like love at first sight.

Actually what your saying is the same thing but from a diffrent prespective. Your absolutely right, what goes around comes around. You make and decide your own future. What you do today, you will have to reap the results for it, good or bad. Karma is the action you perform, bare in mind the reason its said that is because at one given time, you can only do two types of Karma's, 1) Good Karma or 2) Bad Karma. That is why the concept of Karma is there. This is beyond good or bad. In other words if your not making use of your time in a constructive/possitive way and just wasting it away doing nothing or doing negative things that is also bad karma.
The concept of Karma revolves around time, you are on this earth on a limited time, its a like stop watch which is going on and from time you click start till the time you click stop, is your chance to do as many possitive things you can do in life, help people, help the needy, pray etc etc.

You said you don't believe in the Hindu theory about previous life, fair enough. Let me ask you something, in a given day can you think of all the negative things you do ? now if you have to pay for each one of them, when will you? because everyday your still adding to the list of bad karmas. So when you die, you still have to pay for all this that you have not paid for yet. Where does all this negative karma go that you commited when you were alive? you certainly did not pay for it, because you were busy doing more negative things. Think about it.

I think it's just karma. I definitely believe that what goes around comes around, and for Hinduism and Buddhism this all ties in together, since it says that what you do in your first life determines how you will be reincarnated in your second.

I'd also have to say its good advice. Take the golden rule for instance- "treat others as you would have them treat you." Life is all about karma, good advice, and spirituality.

Karma isn't just past lives, it's what you do in this life as well. Past life stuff might influence things like unexplained fears, whether you start out rich or poor, intangible things, etc. What you do today will definitely influence your future. Just don't go into it expecting anything in return, and really don't think it will come back in something you'll recognize. It usually comes back in things you don't even think has any relation. You might give a couple of bucks to a homeless person and have it come back in a week as a piece of info you really need or someone you meet that can be a positive influence in your life.
And always remember that sometimes stuff just happens even to the nicest people. Wrong time, wrong place kind of deal.

Merry Meet,
Karma, Dogma, Nirvana...were man's attempts to get the masses to all the work and these enlightened ones would spend all their time embracing & attempting to reach the source. Keeping the masses in line )meaning those who at the time these were first espoused - couldn't read or write - 90% of the living pop. at the time(, but to reap the rewards of these peoples efforts - food, clothing, shelter all matter of goods. And for these people there was a better life for them for doing these things for these "enlightened" ones. A concept religion still uses today.
Today all these concepts are so engrained in the common mindset of man it simply comes true cos of the repeated input. When raised with any major religion a verison of karma is taught to you from crib onward. You see it, hear it and all completely absorbed into it. Only lack of these constant examples thru life would one be able to say if true or not. Almost every person today believes in it cos they were taught from in the womb onward. Exsist? of course it does how else can we explain the world to ourselves - our children mmmm? Namaste
I

Karma is based on the main law of the universe, which is energy follows thought. What you think and do returns back to you, either drawing positive things or negative, based on your thoughts.

Suppose you were mean to someone. That tells your subconscious you 'approve' of it and it boomerangs right back home. Karmic events happen all the time. Ponder on odd events that occur to you 'out of the blue' and see if you can find where your own thoughts brought it your way.

What goes around comes around refers to Karma

That concept came from the Bible when it says that whatever you sow, you will reap. What goes around comes around is same concept. "Karma" is just the New Age and Eastern Religions title for this concept. Pretty much all the same.

Karma is the law of cause and effect in operation. It does not have to be connected to and operate in reincarnation. The natural law operates whether we like it or not. And very quickly...you don't have to wait for another time to experience the effect from a cause you put in motion.

John Lennon sang about 'instant Karma'...that's what I believe it is. Karma is the 'what' that comes around after you go around (if you get my drift)...here and now...not carrying on from lifetime to lifetime, so I'm with you!
