Why are they all so scared of going to hell? I have seen so many people claiming to be atheists but they go and get all upset when a Christian ssays they are going to Hell. That is our belief as Christians, So if you don't believe in Heaven or Hell why are you so upset when we say that? Oh and when was the last time you told some one to go to hell?????

True atheists don't believe in either. And therefore aren't phased when someone says thay're going to hell. If there's "no hell" then they can't go there. Atheists just get pissed when other people shove beliefs down their throat and that's when they tell that person to "go to hell." They know that person believes in it, so therefore it invokes a certain "fear" in them. Not that any human has the power to decide who goes where when they die.

I think people just need to step back and keep their beliefs to themselves. If the other person obviously doesn't believe what you believe, accept it and move on. (I don't mean YOU specifically, it was just for explanation purposes).

As an atheist, I get upset when people tell me I'm going to Hell not because I'm actually scared of going to hell, but because I get angry when people threaten me with something that, if it DID exist, they would have no power over anyway. Even if hell DID exist, would YOU be able to accurately predict who was going there? To say that you would is incredibly arrogant. To say to an atheist that they're going to Hell also assumes that by telling an atheist about Hell you're somehow going to scare us into changing our minds, which angers me because I have my beliefs and it's no ones business to try and change them. It's the arrogance that upsets the atheists, not the fear of your make-believe afterlife.

What you're saying is true and no lie!.....those who log onto this religious/spirtual site are mostly atheists GOD Haters, and Non-believers of all kinds and yes, it is very obvious that many of them claim to be non-believers of GOD, Heaven, Hell, And Satan,......yet, let a christian say something about either one they display Anger & Attitude, And Log on To This Religious/Spiritual Site To Tell Christians That They Are Going To Hell!....LOL!.....These atheists GOD Haters make up 95% Of This Religious/Spiritual Site...They log on to this site to Judge, Condemn, Harrass, Mock, Verbally Abuse, Disrespect, And Insult Christian Beliefs Which has Nothing To Do With Them At All!......once you put this question of truth in, get ready for the Insults from the non-believers!.......PS yahoo should PUT UP A REAL RELIGIOUS/SPIRITUAL SITE AND MONITOR IT!........

I don't say go to hell and don't believe in hell. The reason I get ticked off when some Christian tells me that if I don't believe I'm going to go to hell is because they're trying to apply the rules they live by to my life. That's just plain rude.

The reason that we don't like being told we are going to hell even though we don't believe in hell is not because of the words or the ideas, but because of the fact that it is intended as an insult.

In certain cultures the worst insult of all is to tell someone that they have dirty hands. Now, when someone from one of these cultures tells you that you have dirty hands it does not mean that your hands are dirty. It means that you are disgusting to the person levelling the charge. Would it bother you to be told that your hands are dirty in an instance like this? Even if your hands are clean, there is venom behind the insult.

That's why we don't like to be told we are going to hell.

If the afterlife was just heaven and hell (as in the Christian concept) it would be limited at best. Heaven and hell are states of mind we place ourselves in...doesn't the response of an atheist bear that out?

What? I'm not scared of going to hell! Hell doesn't exist my dear, it's a figment of manmade fear!

I do good for this life - so I can see the fruits of my actions in this life, in how I treat people. I don't worry about seeing them in an imaginary afterlife.

Why are you so scared of going to hell? It doesn't bother me at all - our mind is our greatest gift, and if there is some kind of god(s), then how can using that gift be a "sin?"

I'm pretty content just enjoying life in the now - not worrying about a religious fixation on fear.

I'm not scared of going to hell as hell isn't real. It's just like me telling you that if you don't believe what I believe you will be punished for all eternity. Say no to jesus.

No I don't get upset about something that does not exist. Christians are the ones that like to tell people that think outside the box what will happen to them, but don't like to think anyone they know will go there. Get a life. You die and then you rot, thats all

We dont get scared when we are told we are going to go to hell....we get frustrated that you are unable to understand anything beyond your tiny little belief system.

You need to understand - out of you and I, only you believe in Heaven and Hell. Therefore, when I tell you that I dont beleive Hell exists, and your comeback is "Well, youre going to be judged and youre going to go to Hell for not believing", we are left with nothing other than frustration over the fact that you do not understand. Its akin to telling you that you are going to spend an eternity in Oz.....you dont beleive in Oz, so what do you care? You are entitled to your beliefs, as am I. What you are not entitled to it to tell me my beliefs are wrong and yours are right.

Ive got news - when you die, the worms shall feast on your eyes. You may think/believe that you are going to Heaven - but I KNOW the worms shall eat you and shyte you out.
