Ok , so what if I am trying to seal my record. Do you think it would be worth it to use a P.D.?

Public defenders are attorneys and they are only available to criminal defendents that cannot afford a lawyer. They will not be able to do what you are asking for you.

Contact legal aid and see if this is something they do. I'm guessing they don't as their services are for those in need now, not those just trying to seal a record. Your local bar association can refer you to a lawyer. Most will consult with you once for free so you can interview a couple and see whether it is worth your money to pursue.

Public defenders ARE lawyers. They are often provided at no cost when a person needs legal help. The drawback is that they are often severely overworked and may not have the time for your case as a private lawyer would.
