Yes we have had hearing checked and checked. last time was when they hooked her up to an eeg machine to see if they were getting to her brain. She also has seizures.
She also had ear tubes put in her ears in jan of this year.

If she doesn't spend a lot of time with other children, this may be the problem. Let her play and spend ample time with other children her age. She will be compelled to communicate with them while playing.

If she already does spend time with other children, I don't know what to suggest other than perhaps some psychological testing from a professional who may determine a cause and a cure.

HOpe this is of some help!

Sorry I don't have any experience in this. Best left to professionals. But as long as her ear infections did not damage her hearing, continue talking to her and asking "silly " questions like "i don't know what I did with my keys? have you seen them? Even if you get a nod or head shake or didn't even lose your keys say " sorry did you say yes or no" i can't hear you. etc God bless and good luck.

Well maybe you should take her to a childrens psychologists. It is very common that she is experiencing other situations that prevent her from talkig. It could be as simple as not liking her therapist.. Look for an ample advice. Good luck,

Go to the speech therapist and ask her/him for suggestions. also, are there any other services you can get for her. Has her hearing been checked? I am assuming it has. She could have lost hearing.

keeping talking to them... ask lots of questions so they have to respond. Ask questions about things they want to talk about. If things dont get better there may be another reason why.
