I use the freeall cheat because everything is free and you can buy a boat load of stuff and then save and restart and sell the stuff then you will have the money for it.

Sims 2 cheats...
"boolprop testingcheatsenabled true"
then shift click on a sim and you get a ton of options
also
"motherlode" gives you $50,000 at a time.
There are a bunch more cheats but they're specific so go to www.thesims2.com and click Community at the top panel then BBS then ask there and you'll get most of them.
If you have any other questions regarding sims 2 I can probably answer them.

Increase money: rosebud (in house party), motherlode (in the sims 2). I also use "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" and "MoveObjects -on" in the sims 2, and "move_objects on" in house party (without quotes)
