In high school I would flip my long hair in front of my face (kinda like Cousin It), and start saying, "Go on, I can't live without hearing the rest! Quit keeping me in such suspense." People got the picture, but didn't enjoy that why of my expressing my thoughts on their stories. (Yeah, I still chuckle about having done that though. Maybe I'll try it with my fiancee. Hmm, I digress.)
A more appropriate way might be to just be frank, while still being loving and caring. When she breaks for a breath, explain gently, she'd already told you this, you'd rather spend your time together discussing something else, or even by just saying you don't know or remember whom she's mentioning or the topic is upsetting to you, or whatever applies in the situation. A word of warning, she may want to hear you back up why you don't want to hear that stuff due to the reason you say. Be prepared, think what would be easiest for you to hear in that situation, and think of her emotional side. (Hope there's no mad cow disease/ pms at the time.)

There a few things you can do
Change the subject to something you want to talk about. I used to do this with my grandparents. They loved to repeat the same stories over and over. By doing this I could learn more about their past or more about their insights. Don't be shy. Just go right in and interrupt the person and ask about something that interests you.
Avoid the person
Pull out a book or put on music
Tell them you need time to collect your thoughts and go lie down

Just try and change the subject to talk about something else.If this is someone you do not have a choice and have to be around then you should tell them respectfully that you are just not in the mood to talk.If you have a choice, dont go around them. People who talk alot may just be uncomfortable with silence. Good luck!

Ask her if she talks to God as much as she talks to you.
She might gwt the point.
Tell her the truth, and the truth will free you from her.
Tell her in a good manner and nicely that you don't want to hear her stories.
Some people has that problem and they don't realize that they are giving a headache. And that they are been enjoying to you.
A little help she can change.

man, thats a tough question. i can tell you straight out that ignoring may not be the answer. some people just don't get it. i guess my advice would be just to walk away. it may seem rude, but yelling shut up isn't going to be any nicer!

If it's a girl on a date? Kiss her.
Anyone else, you just say,"Excuse me a second if you would, but, Do you have the time?(wait for an answer) I have to be at Shoney's in a half hour. Can we continue this at a later date?"

Stare at them and wonder why they were cursed with such a motormouth. WHen they ask you "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Say, " I'm sorry what? I stopped listening 10 minutes ago. You weren't really talking about anything anyway."
