I feel for you. I have extremely spiral curly hair that is a little past my shoulders. I was born with it and it does whatever it wants to.
When I was your age I wanted straight hair in the worst way and would do all sorts of crazy things to my hair to try and make it straight.
The best thing you could do is, instead of spending money on a hair straightener, spend some money on a good hair stylist that really knows what they are doing. They will be able to show you
how to style your hair the way nature wants it.
Trust me, straight haired people would kill to have curly hair. Embrace your curls!
Good Luck

You can try to flat-iron or press your hair. This is kinda hard because i'm assuming that your black and your mom won't let you get a perm. If i am wrong, you can try a blow out and a flat-iron, as well. But be careful, you only want a professional or someone who knows what they're doing to press/flat-iron your hair.
Your mom is right; hair straighteners or perms wreak havoc on your hair and you have to go through a lot to keep your hair in healthy, good condition. You don't like it now, but later you will thank your mother for not letting you destroy your hair.

Use the MaxiGlige by Maxius. That is the only way yo to if you want straight hair without a relaxer, and hair will resist humidity. Look around online for it. It is the best buy I have ever done. Nothing in my life have starighten my hair like that.

STRAIGHTENING YOUR HAIR- Use a flat iron together with a cuticle treatment for your hair. So it's less damage.
BEST SCHOOL HAIRSTYLE- Hair product-fee hair. A simple bright elastic headband or a chiffon scarf would do the trick. You could either wear your hair in a ponytail etc.

I use John Frieda's "frizz ease" line, I think it's called "wind-down, step 4". It's a cream you put in your hair, then blow-dry it straight. It works pretty well, but of course my bangs curl a bit in the humidity. Up here, Canada, it's about $9 per bottle, so depends where you live.

It does mess up your hair. What I do all the time is you can wet your hair down and blowdry dry it and the best hairstyle for back to school would be just to put it up in a bun or a ponytail. :)

well, you can get a styling cream that helps to straightne hair and use that while brushing your hair straight while blowdrying. also, the ceramic straighteners will not do much damage to your hair, maybe bargain with your mom and say you'll only use it on special occasions and then just bring it to school with you :)

There is an attachment that looks like a vacuum head for your hair drier. If you use that with a round brush and pull str8 down then you will get str8 hair. (more or less)

Garnier makes stuff to straighten your hair just with a brush and blowdryer. Plus they have shampoo and conditioner to help the process before you blowdry.

lay your head on the floor....make sure your hair in laid out on the floor, put a towel over your hair and iron it with a clothes iron. I used to do that all the time when I was your age. It works...
