Practice is the Best Instructor. There are a variety of books and video to help you. Most students with your problem, are very impatient. patience and persistance will help. Go backwards to elementary Arithmatic if necessary, find and conquer your deficiency. The Conquest will embolden your confidence. Get a Large Notebook with Plenty of Paper and a set of mechanical pencils. Do ALL or the Worked thru examples and all of the drill problems, end of section and chapter problems. If you are studiyng math without pencil and paper, then you are only folling yourself. Turn off the TV, Videos, and worded music. Classical and Jazz seem to get the best results when studying math. Commit your self to your studies, every day, do a small review upon waking and before retiring. Pray for guidance to learn. Calm your mind. Smile as you study, smilling makes anything easier. Be diligent and take breaks. Watch Public Televison shows like "Cyberspace". Though a "childrens" show the concepets explained will fill in blanks of info that you might have missed. Learn it as if you had to teach it to someone. Be humble, diligent and take breaks. Take Vitamins B-12, C, E, and lecithin for brain function enforcement. Clear your study space of any magazines. This time is for your development, allow no one to intrude.

Do the word problems, that is the real stuff. Challenge yourself. Make notations in your notebook as you go along, Little reminders help. Treat the note like a journal or diary, date the pages. If you make a mistake, correct it with notations. Remember that HOW you arrive at the correct answer is more important than the answer. Without struggle there is no progress, there is no royal road to math. Try to make Love to it and Love it. You will suprise you. Make the sincere effort, sacrifice entertainment time and effort for this. Play with it!! Be like an infant. See it from a Geometric perspective, formulae for 2-dimen and 3-dimen shapes, will give you insight. If you are from the USA your math was rushed thru, skipped thru and posibbly taught by one who did not have the time to dedicate to a large class size; glitches in your processing result along with anxiety.
All Knoledge is one you will find your portal.

It may be the way teachers teach math. Unintelligible, unclear or even lack of time can hinder learning. Or it may be the student.
You could get a parent to help you, or someone who already knows math.
Also getting enough sleep and the proper nutrition really helps.
Practice makes perfect, so if you are unwilling to practice, then you will not become good at math.
Math is one of the hardest subjects to learn. Even I had difficulty.
So keep trying and don't give up.

Just practise over and over. I was lazy when I did maths A-level, and nearly failed in spite of my IQ being 147. It's something you really have to work hard at, so stick with it, work hard and you'll get there.

PRACTICE & LEARN THE CONCEPTS are my advices. Seriously, Maths requires plenty of practices but before that, you must understand and learn the concepts behind each topic. You cannot be lazy. You need to put in the effort in WHATEVER you do.

i've always hated math myself, but have you ever considered getting a tutor that can cater to your learning style?? everyone learns differently, and I think if you went to a tutoring centre, they'd be able to match you with someone that can teach you the best way you can understand. math isn't easy, but it doesn't have to be horrible. there are always ways to it. you just have to find yours. good luck!!
