In March, most of Israel will have very moderate temperatures - not too hot or cold (although some higher elevation areas may be quite cool). Depending on where you are going, I would suggest bringing clothes that can easily be layered.
In Jerusalem, for example, the temps range from the low 40's to the low 60's F. However, in Eilat it can range from the high 40's to the low 90's F.

It's just beautiful there - have a great time.

In March, you will find a *wide* variety of weather--even in the same city on different days.
It is likely to be warm (not hot) in Jerusalem, with cold--*really* cold--nights. On the coast, it will likely be very warm. Eilat will be hot. And, if you have any luck, you could go skiing on Mt. Chermon.
You also have to expect rain. The likelihood is it will only rain once every 2 weeks or so at that time of year, but more often when you are a tourist there... The rain is usually really cold and annoying, with high winds. It will probably last all day when it happens. Pick a good museum to spend time in that day.
If you will be visiting religious sites (of *any* religion), you will probably need to have your knees and shoulders (and everything in between) covered whether you are male or female, and nothing with a really low neckline or really tight-fitting for teenage girls and women. Pants are acceptable for women, but you may get dirty looks.

March is kind of in the middle not too hot not to cold. Bring light pants, and light jackets. Probably not shorts! I'm in Israel right now and it's really hot. It also depends on where you are going if you are going to Jerusalem that's the coldest part, so bring maybe a heavier jacket not fur or anything. Have you ever been?

Israel is mild in March, it's a good tiime to go. Spring is best, as it makes the best photographs when the hills are green and stuff is blooming.
Hiking shorts (not too short, just above knee is OK) and boots are best, the terrain is hilly and rocky in places. If you plan to visit a holy site and you are female, pack a skirt (rolled in knapsack is best) with a stretchy waistband, that way you can pop it on over the shorts. Bring a scarf, some sites require that women cover their heads.
Happy travels.

It might get cool in March, no matter where you are. Especially at night. Bring a light sweater or jacket. In general it should be nice out but remember that weather is not always predictable. Also, if you ever need anything extra, you've got lots of great clothing stores around.
I live there so contact me if you need help with anything.
Have fun!
