Pasta is not bad for you as many think...depending on the portion and the sauce used. Keep the portion to a cup and the sauce to one that is healthy and not full of heavy cream and cheeses and you will be OK. But you do need to add some protein to your diet. The best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced diet with reasonable portions. Limiting yourself to only 2 meals a day and mostly salads and fruit only will end up making you ill. A good diet does not leave you feeling deprived, weak or hungry.

Weight Watchers is one of the better diets and has you eating balanced portions. You count points and do not deprive yourself, yet do not limit yourself to only several things.

Pasta is good if you are exercising because your muscles burn carbs and pasta is a good source of carbs. I'm a runner so I eat a lot of pasta. I eat the whole wheat pasta. You may want to try it because it has more fiber and will make you fill fuller. The whole wheat pasta is a lot healthier for you.

okay, your brain runs solely on carbohydrates... that is it's energy source... so without eating any carbs all day (without the pasta) your brain will not function as efficiently as it could... because of that, I would highly recommend pasta at breakfast time or some other food high in carbs- bread group. Also, do make sure that with your snack at dinner comes some source of protein... MALNUTRITION is NOT a successful diet...i cannot stress that point enough

I was told that pasta is a good way to lose weight. But now all those anti-carbs people out there are saying it's bad.

Who can say, really. Eat what you want in moderation and get your exercise and you should do fine.

Bad, unless it's soy pasta, or some other whole food pasta. Anything made from refined white flour is empty calories. Think of eating paste. Yuck. Very bad for you.

pasta is good for you as long as you burn off the energy you get from it, if you don't burn it off it can be stored as fat. Boy it sure is yummy though.
