When we visit other countries most british visitors respect where they are, and conduct themselves accordingly.
So why are the british expected to put up and shut up at home when others flaunt there rights to be here

Because we allow them to do it, that's why. You can't say anything otherwise your classed as a racist, and they play on it.
The police are now so politically correct they more likely to ignore a white victim of crime to concentrate on a muslim whose lost his frigging cat. Political correctness is making people racist, why should we end up being second class citizens in our own country?
When that hooked handed cleric was preaching his crap about killing us 'infidels' (and picking up his fat benefit cheque afterwards) he was allowed to get away with, our boys in blue just stood by and watched for God's sake. If I stood in the street and did the same thing, preaching hate against muslims etc. I'd have been in the back of a police van and my feet wouldn't have touched the ground.
As long as we let them come over here in droves and support them with housing, benefits, basically let them get away with everything, I'm afraid there's no hope for this once great country and it's proud people

Because we are a soft touch. The same reason that we seem to be the only country in Europe where its citizens don't just stick 2 fingers up at EU legislation.

I personally would not have any objections to the tolerances we give to multitude of societies and cultures that claim to call our humble island their home, and I truly believe that a multicultural society is a good thing, however the thing that gets my back up every time is that it is deemed so politically incorrect for me to show any form of national pride in my own country without being castigated for offending someone who has settled here from abroad and now calls this country their home. It seems that in this day and age, certainly from where I am sitting, Football is the last accepted bastion of National Pride.

British ex-pats in Spain build villas wherever they like; never learn Spanish; and completely ignore the locals.

The only differences between them and the more reclusive British Asians is that the OAPs in Spain are white and have more money.

We have the same problem in the USA. It is because we do tolerate it. It is politically incorrect at the moment to insist that immigrants need to learn english in order to become citizens. In fact to some of the people it doesn't even matter if they are illegal immigrants, they should still have the same rights as citizens. One major thing wrong with these attitudes of bringing the old country with you is that the people were leaving their old countries because of the problems that were there compared to the opportunities in their new nation. There are reasons that there are fewer opportunities in the third world nations and we don't want them as part of our society.

Blame nanny state tatics, the sofly sofly approach only breeds arrogance amongst the immigrant population who think they are above the law because they aren't taken to hand in the same way as that joe public is. As the son of an immigrant i can say these things as i have witnessed them outside of our family, and as a result we are all tarnished with the same brush because of the ignorance of those few.

Have you actually ever been abroad? I'm frequently ashamed to be from this island when I see how moronically some fellow Brits behave.

Obviously because they get away with it .... being politically correct seems more important to our politicians, both in Britain and in the U.S, than the interests of their own citizens ...

Btw. British people showing respect when they are abroad? Football hooligans? I do not think .... :(

Because they're parasitic scum with nothing to offer. This country's fucked and as soon as I can, I'm out of here. I feel sorry for those poor men who fought for this country in the vain hope that they were building a better future.

political correctness gone mad and unfortunately it will all descend into mass chaos where this country will turn into a non tolerant country because we feel we are being exploited and quite rightly so. I mean come on you cant have black boards but you can have white ones, you cant sing about baa baa black sheep but you can sing baa baa white sheep I don't know about you but I feel discriminated against and im British.

Because we let them get away with it. We'd be thrown out of a Mosque for not respecting their beliefs/rules. We just put up and shut up.
