According to the Bhagavad Gita:
"I am alike to all being." "None is hateful or dear to me. But those who worship me with devotion are in me and I in them."
" The Rig Veda, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita hold that all paths lead to the summit. "As men approach me so do I accept them. Men on all sides follow my path."
God is leading all people of the world on to the fullness of life by diverse paths.
"A Hindu does not believe that salvation is to be had only through any one particular religion. God does not refuse his truth, his love and his grace to any who, in sincerity, seek him, wherever they may be and whatever creeds they may profess."

Well, it all depends really. When two countries are in war the winner always says that God took their countries side, but it appears that even in the Bible God took sides. He sided with Israel and Egypt. Also with Abram (aka Abraham) and King David. God doesnt play fairly, he picks favorites. He chooses who he will punish (as in the case of Sarai, when he turned her into a pillar of salt for looking back at her past life, which was quite mean to expect her to leave her home and then punish her for missing it). Everyone says that God is such a caring God, but in all truth, he seems to be nothing more than a big bully or something such as that. And he always takes sides, always? Don't believe me? Write a letter to President Bush and ask him, he would say that he is doing God's work over in Iraq, he would say God is on America's Side. (which doesnt make since because in the book of revelations its revealed that the largest country ---america--- will be destroyed by the hand of God using the smallest nation ---(which appears to be Iran)!

I don't believe there is a god, but the god that is described by the various religions certainly shouldn't take sides. That, I think, is one of the major problems with religion, any religion: everyone thinks his/hers is the only right one and that god really is on their side. They are willing to kill people to prove that. Abraham Lincoln said something about this in his second inaugural speech: I don't have it word-for-word, but the gist of it was that both sides in the Civil War thought God was on their side. He said one side MUST be, and both sides may be, wrong.

God HAS taken a side, His own.
God is the Creator of all things, everything that exists. We are His to use as He pleases.
Rom 9:18 So then, He shows mercy to whom He wills, and He hardens whom He wills.
Rom 9:19 You will say to me, therefore, "Why then does He still find fault? For who can resist His will?"
Rom 9:20 But who are you--anyone who talks back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it, "Why did you make me like this?"
Rom 9:21 Or has the potter no right over His clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor?
Rom 9:22 And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction?
Rom 9:23 And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory--
He is the potter, I am the clay.
A great problem exists in the world today that man wants to re-make God in man's image, into man's idea of what he wants God to be like, and it just won't work.
God is God and I am not.
We should try to understand what God is up to in all situations, not deny God because we don't like or agree with what we see.
We are His to use.

This is a mistake men and nations have made for time out of mind.
God doesn't take sides. God is a side. The question then becomes, who's side are you and I on?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Because, when the awards are handed out, God remembers those athletes that praise his name.
If you don't thank Jesus before and after a game, he'll let the other team win.

God has standards and rules. When people follow his laws, he looks favorably on that, and defends them.
