But be careful becos after dark, you cannot say SELAMAT PETANG and u should say SELAMAT MALAM ( good night ). It is different than English.

Well it depends how late it is. If the sun's still out then it's "Selamat Petang." But if it's starting to get dark you should say "Selamat Malam"
