Depends on who you ask! Some people pronounce everything wrong. Technically, the "l" shouldn't be silent, but like I said, it depends on who you ask.
Do you know anyone who pronounces Walmart "Walmarx?" Because I know a lot of them and they drive me nuts! Or they will add an "s" onto the name of some stores.

My mom never pronounced the "L" on the end.

it all depends on what region of the US you are from. the l can be pronounced or silent both are acceptable.

The correct way is to say it with the l- some people don't say it that way though.
