They are tender and delicious with a mildly spiced sauce you can pour over rice.
1 sparerib racks, cut in pieces
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash Tabasco sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup honey

Place the ribs in a dutch oven or large saucepan with enough water to cover.
Bring to a boil, lower the temperature and simmer the ribs for 30 minutes.
Drain the ribs.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Season the ribs with salt and pepper to taste.
Place in a shallow roasting pan meaty side up.
Combine the sauce ingredients, and pour over the ribs.
Bake until done, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Baste ribs with sauce every 15 minutes.
If sauce gets too thick, add a bit of water.

My mom always boils the spare ribs first in a big pot of water with some onion, cloves, etc. in there. That way, they're mostly cooked and you just have to get them brown on the grill or in the oven. You know how pork is: it needs to be thoroughly cooked, and it can get burned or tough if you cook it long enough. Boiling them first gets the meat cooked and keeps it moist. I think if you make them in the oven, you'd probably want the broiler on. (I'm not a spare rib fan so I don't cook them very often, and if I do, I do them on the grill.)

3 racks (3 to 4 pounds total) baby ribs, well trimmed
1 teaspoon mixed Italian herbs (oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme)
1 cup good dry red wine
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
PREPARATION:
Bring a large Dutch oven or kettle of salted water to a boil. Add the racks of ribs and the Italian seasoning; when water returns to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 35 minutes. Drain well.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan combine wine, ketchup, honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and salt.

Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil briskly until the liquid reduces by about half, about 30 minutes.
Place the ribs on a greased grill about 5 inches over hot coals. Baste with the sauce and cook them for about 15 minutes. Turn, baste again and cook for 15 minutes more, until nicely browned and glazed.

Transfer the spareribs to a cutting board and into serving-size portions.
Grilled spareribs serves 4.

I put some pork rub (paprika, sugar, pepper, etc... can be bought) and rub it into the meat.

I place them in a roasting pan with a cover and put Dr. Pepper ( you could use beer, also) and sllllooooww cook them. A couple of hours in a 200-250 degree oven. You do not want to tell the hog that you are cooking him.

I then place them on a grill for some grill flavor and add BBQ to it then.

These are tender and wonderful!!!

I like to take a rack of ribs, rub them with dry rub, then put them in the fridge for several hours.

Then I put them in the oven at 325 degrees for about one and a half hours. Then I take them out and brush on my favorite B.B.Q. sauce and place back in the oven for another 30 minutes.

Cooking times may vary as to the size of the rack of ribs and your oven, but they come out really good and they are easy to cook.

yes, you can cook them in the oven. just put them in a pan with either a lid or cover in foil if you are home all day you can put them in around noon and cook them on about 300 for about four hours.when they you are almost ready take them out of the oven remove the foil and let them cook for about ten minutes this is when you want to add your sauce.
the longer you cook them the more tender they will be.

depending on when you eat dinner determines how long and on high you can cook them. don't try to cook them on high real fast or they will get tough. good luck

put your oven on im coming over to dinner with you. get a basting tray and put a pint of water in it, then put your ribs in it and cook them at 200 degrees, turning them occasionally, for 1/2 an hour. Take the tray out and cover the ribs with honey, then put them back in for another 1/2 an hour or until mildly crispy, mmmmmmmmmm i can taste them from here.

yes you can put them in the overn but the best way I know how to make some good ol spare ribs is to boil them in some water and about a cup of vinegar til the meat is just bout to fall off the bone, then you can put them in a dish, cover them in a barbeque sauce of your preference with some seasoning in it and stick it in the oven to marinate the flavor of the sauce into the ribs....they be good girl...
