Overall dear Christians and Jewish people do you believe Allah is the same God that we believe in and worship? Why or why not?

I am not seeking to offend anyone I just want to know how people believe and feel. I am Catholic and personally do not believe they are the same. That is just my opinion. I am not stating that Muslims are evil or bad.

For those who asked why I believe they are different this is the reason. The teachings of the Quran and the Bible are not in harmony with each other. Either you believe Christ was the Messiah or you believe He was a prophet. I believe He is the Messiah. That is the Catholic Churches position as well.

Thank you Rebecca for that clarification. I was speaking of the version of Allah that Muslims worship.

Forget Allah, Jews and Christians don't even worship the same G-d.

"Allah" is the only word in the Arabic language for god. As such, if it is used by an Arabic speaking person who is NOT a Muslim, it means something different than when it is used by a Muslim.
Muslims claim that "Allah" is the same as the God of the Bible, but not even other Arabic persons hold this view unless they are Muslims.
As to whether or not the Muslim claim is true, no, from BOTH a Christian and Jewish perspective -- being a Jew by birth and a Christian by choice, "Allah" is NOT the God of the Bible, but an invented personage who is inconsistent with the Biblical descriptions of God and totally opposed to the teachings of the God of the Bible.

Yes, I believe Allah and God, the father, are the same. I'm a Catholic, too. I don't think the Qu'ran and the Bible are in sink, either, but I still think they are the same, just a different name. Jesus as the Messiah, or as a prophet, I don't think has a baring on the question.
One other thing: What's the correct spelling of the Muslim holy book? I've seen it so many ways that I just don't know anymore.

All three religions clearly worship the same God - the God of Abraham and of Moses, although obviously they approach God from very different angles.
Jews and Muslims are strict unitive monotheists with a religious legal system; there are many ways in which muslims and jews are actually closer to one another than either are to christianity.
Arab-speaking Christians use the word "Allah" in the Arabic language. The word just means "the God." They are no different from their Muslim counterparts in this matter, other than the English speaking Muslims' tendency to Anglicize Allah instead of use the word "God."

I believe that Christians and Muslims worshiped the same God but as time went by, people changed the religion. I believe they've changed God into Allah, but there is only one God, and He's not bloodthirsty.

I believe in the energy of God. I don't believe it's some man hanging up in the clouds, who is almighty. I believe that even though Christianity, Judaism, and Islam vary in some ways, they are all based on the same spiritual principles (if one dares to look). So, essentially, I believe this God form is the center of all religion of spirituality. As long as you are a good person and treat others the way you would like to be treated; it doesn't matter which path you take. BTW, I am a Jew......

Yes.
Allah is more correctly written and translated al Lah which means "the God". Many will disagree, but the basis for all three faiths is the same God, whether you call him Allah, Jehovah, God the Father, Adonai, Lord, whatever.
I am christian BTW. I took a comparative religion class where I got the above translation.

Allah has a totally different character and personality than Jesus or the old testament God. Allah has different hopes, requirements and expectations. This means Allah represents a different concept of God.

No. There is no Allah. Only God. And I am talking about the God of Issac and Abraham. The God who sent His only son, Jesus, to die for the sins of the world. So, no...If you do not believe in that God, we are not on the same page.

I believe there is one god and over the years people have interpreted his teachings in different ways and made different religions. If you really look at it mostly all religions have the same basics, be good to one another and do good things.
