Especially on the 4th of July, with the launching of the space craft, coincidence?

What should or could America do to stop them from doing it again

I think that they are testing and perfecting a means to deliver nuclear missiles to American soil.

Anyone not threatened by that is a complete and utter fool.

Decades ago the ruling party of North Korea made the decision that developing a missile programme was preferable to maintaining a conventional navy and air force (both of which are hopelessly outdated).
Whenever NK feels ignored, they use the only leverage they have: missiles. Their actual capabilities are not that impressive. For example, the longest range missile they've just attempted to launch, the Taepedong 2, was not successful. Were this missile to be deployed, it might reach the American West Coast with a light payload.
North Korea is a regional threat - specifically to Japan and South Korea. In response, we have deployed interceptor missile batteries to Japan. In the future, I would imagine we will be doing more to increase our interception capabilities.

There were seven missiles launched. North Korea has every right to test their launch capability, just as we do and every other nation with launch capabilities does. We only need to get involved if they present a danger to us or our Allies. Japan is also watching this extremely close right now.
North Korea is just trying to screw with your head. 4th of July, shuttle launching (coincidence) since the shuttle was delayed 2 days. The Press is giving it a lot of hype just because this fits with their joy at manipulation of the general public and their ability to cause fear.

North korea launched missiles, not bombs. They are a sovereign nation and have the right to develop their own defenses. The concern comes when those defenses are developed to bring attention to them as a world power. If you ignore them, they get upset because you didn't respond, if you respond the get upset because you are subverting their rights. This is a no win situation for anyone involved and hopefully dimplomacy will help...I wouldn't count on it.

I think the guys who did these wanted to something different.I mean all this hype about the no,11 after 9/11, gave 11 a very sinister look. Now these guys by dropping 6 bombs have proved it can be bad even if its not 11.

i haven't thought much about it.

N. Korea has the right to act foolishly whenever it wants. I simply don't think they will actually bomb anyone any time soon.

I also believe N. Korea has the right to build self-defense for itself.

Their dictator has SMS: small man syndrome. He wants attention. The best thing we could do is monitor them, press the UN for sanctions, but say nothing publicly. All he wants is attention. Don't give it to him.

Two words, MASSIVE AIRSTRIKE! No need for a ground invasion, just bomb the living hell out of any and every military installation, vehicle, and personnel. MOAB's kick ***.
