If you really love her and this means alot to her, more than it does to you, Why wouldnt you? Love and marriage is about putting the other person first, she is your future wife, do it, start married life off on the right foot.

I wouldn't even think about doing it. It is the 21st century, but some things still haven't changed. The woman can take the man's name if that's what she wants to do, but she doesn't have to. The guy should keep his name. No double-barreled last names either for the guy. That's just not how it's done. Not to call all of us guys immature, but I know I'd be making fun of a friend if he took the girls last name. I see it as a big slap in the face for a woman to even ask. It's very demasculating and would be very embarrassing for a guy.
Don't do it.

No, I like my last name. But she should not be expected to change her last name if she does not want to. I understand that in South America it is more common for the man to take the family name of his wife. The couple should talk about if she feels uncomfortable.

This is what I did, when we were married, she had 2 children already, so I took her last name so that the whole family would have the same last name.
A lot of states are starting to allow this now, I see nothing wrong with it.

It would be weird but a lot of people are taking the husbands last name and keeping theirs. Hyphenated last name (Smith - Jones) Maybe this could be an option.

You're free to do it, but I'm traditional and I took my husband's last name. Just know that no matter what century we're in, you're going to get teased big time so I hope you have enough confidence to handle it. Basically, your fiancee has you "by the balls."

I dont think I would take her last name but I would suggest that we keep our own surnames. Can cause a few of problems but it is feasable. Why not??? Celebrities do it all the time.

Ask away, but don't be suprised if your boyfriend says no. Most guys don't want to take the womans name. It goes agaist tradition and a they see it as demasculating.
Still... it doesn't hurt to ask.
