No you cannot catch Diabetes, it is a condition caused by a lack or insulin being released from the pancreas, it is not a viral or infectious condition so you will be fine. I don't know what to advise about your parents not believing you but well done for keeping the cat and dog separated like you did, you prevented them from injuring each other and that was a very brave and responsible thing for you to do. Your sister is still young and probably doesn't yet realise how dangerous your pets fighting could have been, just know in your heart you did the right thing and your sister will become more mature as she grows up, she obviously has a lot to learn still.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU77w
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Cats are suspicious of anything .. but curious too.
Dogs like to chase movement!
When they meet ..the dogs wants to sniff the cat, but the cat is afraid ..and so he runs ...that run is a challenge to the dog.. he immediately runs after the cat.
But if a dog stays still the cat gets curious ... he tries to approach the dog .. the first thing a cat does, when facing an unknown object or animal, is to test him. This cat's test is usually done with the paw, beating against the unknown thing... usually the dog sees this as an attack ... and riot starts!!
Anyway .. you should see mine... my cat and my dog are the biggest lovers of all times. They are really friends and look really cute together!
Good luck with yours!

Cats & dogs are predators that are living in the same territory. So this causes a competition for food and other things. Back when dogs were still wolves, the fighting would ensure that they had had more opportunity to find food than the cat if the wolf could maim, kill, or chase it away from the territory. That instinct is still around in regular dogs today. Unless of course an human tells a dog to live peacefully with a cat, then that is a whole different ball game.
